Bonjour Bakehouse — Restaurant in San Mateo

This place is insanely good. I thought Backhaus was a real step up in bakeries in San Mateo and Burlingame but Bonjour Bakehouse take them to another level. Where to start on the menu? The scones are so good - great crisp, not too sweet but delicious - so many choices. Croissants are perfectly Parisian with the right balance of butter, crisp, freshness. And in all he flavors. The breads are great; the cookies are divine. The coffee (according to my wife - I don't drink) is also really really good. It is the closest thing we've found to Paris and we've spent a lot of time working/living there. The people who work there are great as are the owners - had an issue once on an order with Door Dash and they were all over it - really wish they'd open on the Avenue but absolutely worth going out of your way to find this place - it's amazing. Oh I forgot to mention - the gluten free options are crazy good - bought a couple dozen items for my sister's pharma lab and a couple of people there are gluten free - ordered a couple of everything Bonjour Bakehouse offers and I was told they were all...

We were hosting our kid's birthday party in the morning and thought it would be fun to share some delicious baked goods from Bonjour Bakehouse. Everyone was so impressed (adults and kids!), and the catering process was fantastic. Ingrid was very responsive on the catering form and worked with me to shape a nice menu for everyone (including some vegan/GF/vegetarian options). I picked up the order at the time we agreed upon (Sunday morning) and they offered me a coffee drink while they finished packing it up.

Everything was a hit, but the different savory scones were my favorite. "Bite-size" isn't quite right, they're a few bites, but small enough so you want to try a few of them :). The croissants were also a hit, and some of the cookie flavors were great. Sugar cookies aren't my favorite, but the kids loved them.

We ended up with a few extra scones and they heated up really nicely in the oven over the next day or two.

Would recommend to anyone and will probably use them for catering...

Wow! What a hidden gem. Our annual Women's Christmas Tea needed some bite-sized scones and what a blessing to stumble ovre Bonjour Bakehouse for the first time. These were truly the best scones I have ever tasted - crunchy on the outside, soft and moist on the inside, flavors unique and perfect. We ordered the Bacon & Pancetta, Regular, and Gluten-free Scones for our event. Ingrid went above and beyond in making the catering order process smooth and easy. We were even running behind to pickup, yet she was so warm, kind, and patient about it. If you are wondering whether to utilize Bonjour Bakehouse for any event or even just for your own snack, look no further. This place is it!
