Silver Ocean Restaurant — Restaurant in San Pablo

We were too lazy to cook, so we decided to order some Chinese food and weirdly sushi. We ended up ordering bbq fried rice, spicy pork ribs, cheung fun beef noodles, and California rolls. The fried rice was hard and not very flavorful. The cheung fun beef noodle was a bit better than the fried rice by a whole lot. The spicy pork rib was just sad... it looked like there was a lot in the box, but when you start reading, you realize that it's just a whole bunch of bones with very little meat... it was like each piece had 99.5% bones and 0.5% meat with some fat and chewy connective tissue. This dish looked like they used all the leftover pork after they took out the meat for other dishes. I would never recommend this dish to anyone... it's that bad. On the bright side, their sushi was pretty good. The rice was warm and fresh, and the filling was not half bad either.

A few weeks after the first initial order, we decided to try this restaurant again. We pursed a couple of Chinese dishes, mainly the bbq fried rice, beef cheung fun and wonton soup. Standard Chinese-American food place that does sushi. I think some of their dishes are more oily than others, and the quality of their food is mediocre. However, if you’re craving that familiar Chinese restaurant style takeout, this place is good for it. The wor wonton soup is definitely a must-order for me, along with the lion king roll. 😅 Also, remember when ordering that everything is family style unless noted as a combo. My husband expected rice with his beef broccoli order and was disappointed. That’s on him though.

We ordered food from Silver Ocean via Grubhub, which is what prompted this review. We’ve eaten at the establishment a couple of times before, and this time we decided on delivery. Everything was as ordered. 👍🏾

Unfortunately, no call or text was received with our delivery arrival. Thank goodness my husband was stepping out to the car for something at which he saw the food on the doorstep! We don’t know how long the food was outside our door, but aren’t the drivers supposed to call or text to let you know the delivery is made or being made? 🤷🏾‍♀️

Overpriced for the quality and quantity of the portions. Service was beyond bad, this girl was so rude, didn’t even wanted to talk to me directly only to my husband. She forgot my water when she brought both of our sodas and I tried to get her attention but she just flat straight ignored me I had to raise my voice for her to even acknowledge that I was there. After dropping off the food I had to get up and get the soy sauce and chilly sauce for myself, she saw me doing it and didn’t flinch. In full honesty this place was so sad to be empty on a Saturday night.
