My favorite place to enjoy craft beer and meet new people. 12 beers on tap and a large bottle selection. Great Punjabi style Indian food restaurant in the back and a Krispy Krunchy franchise (fried chicken) in the front. There's also massive 4K TV for sports, music, or Chromecasting from your phone.
Bottles is a great place to visit alone because there's almost always an interesting person to talk to, but there are also tables for groups looking for a place to hang out. Bottles is quiet enough to have a conversation, but has that pleasant buzz you get when friendly people are enjoying some beer together.
Beer clubs, home brewers, and bottle share events fill the place up from time to time and offer a chance to try beers you're unlikely to have access to anywhere else. It's not a bad idea to bring a good bottle with you in case you stumble upon an event and want to join in the sharing, but more often than not, folks will pour everyone a taste as long as there aren't too many people.
Finally, Bottles also has an clothing store in case you need to attend a formal Indian event, an Indian grocery store with spices and Indian versions of familiar brands (the masala Ruffles are pretty tasty), and some cookware and produce. Everything you might need in one spot!
Daljit and his family run the place and are there 7 days a week, sometimes working 12 hour days. When I settle my bill I feel good about it; my money is going to people who have earned it, not a absent owner under-paying his employees while raking in the cash, or worse yet a corporation driven only by profit. I've seen Daljit drive customers home himself on several occasions after talking them out of driving drunk. I've even seen him push a motorcycle into the shop to seal the deal when a guy wouldn't leave it outside overnight.
So in summary, go to Bottles because there's great beer, great food, great people, and to support having a cool spot locally so we don't have to drive to Berkeley, Oakland, or San Francisco when we...
Read moreThe Indian restaurant in the back of Bottles is seriously the best!!! It’s crazy that not many people from India come here but rather frequent Vik’s Chaat. Maybe they haven’t heard of Bottles yet and hopefully run across my review.
My friend said it taste like his grandma’s cooking. They are from India.
I love the saag paneer, Rogan Josh, eggplant and butter chicken!!! Not too crazy about the okra. The naan is super buttery and delicious. Excited to try all their other dishes!!! When they bring them to the table, you can feel they are teeming with Life.
Again, I don’t know why more people from India don’t frequent this restaurant and store. It is mainly enjoyed by heavy-set Americans who come to the bar to watch sports (sad puppy face). Help spread the word that this is the best Indian restaurant in the Bay Area and...
Read moreRestaurant got one of our orders wrong and the older lady at the front of the store was not helpful at all. She wasn’t able to tell us what any of the desserts by the register were, didn’t even try to describe them. Yet she acted rude when we’d ask simple questions about the ingredients, which she also was unable to answer. Cannot recommend and won’t...
