The first time I ate here, the server was informed I had a gluten problem, but was ignorant of the fact that one of their soups had pasta in it. Despite our efforts, something (I want to say the tomato sauce on the cabbage rolls) gave me nerve pain for several days.
The second time I ate here, the gluten-free baked "mac and cheese" (their gf penne) came out undercooked with a cardboard consistency and a bad cheese sauce that was most definitely not baked. Stuff thickens a certain way when baked.
The item was sent back, but was left on the bill with an upcharge (that is not listed on the menu) for the gluten-free penne. When this was removed, the price of the salad magically spiked. Yes, Berardi's tried to defraud me three times in about 5 minutes.
You hurt me, you robbed me, and that's your last chance.
In response to the company, your daily specials section of your menu have no such gluten-free labels, and your server fumbled the ball on knowing what was what in that. I've never seen a Greek lemon soup with pasta in it, and from the way she was shocked when I noticed, she apparently hadn't either.
The $1 upcharge was for the penne, not the salad.
It seems you're too busy wanting to defend yourself to get something right, even now, so please do not capitalize a word as though I am the one at fault.
You flubbed. You tried to rob me. You're acting like the dirty carnies who financed you to begin with.
Own it or shut...
Read moreLike many tourists we stopped at Berardi's while on a trip to Cedar Point. We stopped in on our way to the park and met Amanda. She was absolutely lovely (everyone we interacted with truly was) Amanda treated us like we belonged and she encouraged my 10 year olds plethora of questions. And the food! Portions are generous and the food is genuine home cooked deliciousness. We had the burger with brisket, Ruben and Nashville Mac and cheese. Not a word was exchanged while we devoured our meal. We also, despite being utterly stuffed shared a peach bourbon crumble. It was incredible. We were in Ohio for three days and before we left we absolutely had to have lunch at Berardi's we were seated by the hostess and received waters, Amanda come up to our table and excitedly welcomed us. "I'm so glad your back!" She recommended some dishes we shouldn't leave Ohio without trying. We have chicken ranch sandwiches with Alfredo bites, Nashville chicken with onion rings and a cheeseburger with fries. Those Alfredo bites were so so good and the food was home cooked goodness. Now I've written enough of a novel here, so, I'll just say the desserts are also a absolutely cannot miss. Berardi's and it's staff are an absolute gem. We will always be eating here while visiting in Ohio. This place feels like family, like they want you there and they love cooking delicious...
Read moreJoann and came here after the trip to Vermilion for the elderberry syrup. We both ordered the bbq brisket sandwich with fries and Cole slaw. We shared a piece of chocolate french silk pie. No pictures because it wasn't a pretty piece. It was too sweet for me but Joann liked it.
The beef brisket was super tender, smokey and the bbq sauce was ok too. My preference though is for a North Carolina bbq sauce with a big kick of peppers and apple cider vinegar. I am taking the other half of my sandwich home with us for later. If they gave you a choice of spicy bbq sauce, that would be my choice but that's because I grew up on BBQ in that area of NC. Living in Raleigh NC, Georgia, Virginia and so forth. The Cole slaw was lightly dressed and chopped well. It was an EXCELLENT recipe.
They're FRENCH FRIES are everything we read about. My last trip to Cedar Point was when we were living in Shelby Ohio. I couldn't give you the exact years; so I don't actually remember having fries at the park. But we will be going back to the restaurant again, as well as I'd love for Will & Joann to enjoy Cedar Point too.
The only drawback to our dinner was our waitress. We barely saw her and waited forever for a water refill that never came and it took forever to "checkout with her" at the end. Her tip shows our...
