First time ever here and while I was slightly disappointed, my experience wasn't on the bad side. Father's has the capability of showcasing what appears to be something close to 40 beers on tap. I didn't actually count but there's a TON of taps there. They have very few beers on tap which is disheartening. I want to go back in the fall and see what comes available for Oktoberfest and the winter. I'm hoping the selection grows as the economy bounces back from the big C (covid).
Food wise, we had a breakfast burger, the peanut butter and jelly pizza, as well as the pan baked cookie for dessert. The burger was cooked medium (as asked) and hit the spot. The pizza was a to go order and tasted great later in the evening. The baked cookie was just that, a baked cookie. Exactly as expected but not basing my review on a cookie.
It wasn't packed but it was 500 degrees in the dining area. The bar area was MUCH cooler, so we moved to the bar after finishing our meal.
Beer wise, let's run through it quick. I had the blueberry summer, cream ale, vanilla milkshake IPA, steel rail pale ale and carlsberg. Blueberry was decent. Didn't knock my socks off but I could have two and be done. Cream ale was better and I would throw a few of them back. Definitely drinkable. Milkshake IPA wasn't my thing but I tried it. Tasted like a creamy IPA. Steel rail was delicious! Definitely could drink that on a night out. Carlsberg was my go to for the night. Having had Carlsberg in England, I know what it's supposed to taste like. It was FRESH! I put these back like it was my job. By far the best beer of the night and I will be going...
Read moreWaited an hour to be seated after being told 20-30 minutes. Ordered our food immediately since we had a long time to look at the menu. Waited another hour for the food. If it was packed that would make sense, but it was half empty! Everyone was waiting to be seated while there were empty tables everywhere. Why not seat people and give them drinks? Or give a proper warning that it’s going to be a long wait?
EDIT: Thanks for the reply. My burger and fries were excellent, but the rest of my family had fish and it was cold by the time we got it.
I understand the staffing issues - every restaurant has them. What other restaurants have done is manage their guests experience rather than throwing their hands up and saying there’s nothing they can do. Don’t lie about the wait, make people wait in a tiny waiting area when the dining room is empty and the tables have been bussed, and then offer nothing when the wait for the food is long.
Telling people an accurate wait time (or even an overestimate) is hosting 101. Offering free popcorn or bread along with kids menus and crayons costs little and keeps families happy. Please make some changes - you have a great menu and draft list, but the way things are run feels like a restaurant that either just opened or is on...
Read moreI was so excited to try this place with my girlfriend the other night but we were there for ten minutes then left. We walked in and and sat across from the bar at the rail table while waiting for a table to open up. We noticed that there was a strange musky smell in the air but I ignored it trying to be positive and not judge them. A table opened up and we were seated. As we were looking at the menu laughing and enjoying ourselves, an older gentleman(i would guess manager) came over and asked us how we were and what we would like to drink. We said we were good and continued to order our drinks. He asked where we had been that night. We looked at each other confused and I said "I was at work, why?" He then tells us the bartender was under the impression we were intoxicated and could not serve us drinks. I had not had a single drink and my friend had 1 before we got there. Because we were "loud" and enjoying each other's company they assumed we were drunk. I have never been so insulted before. He stepped away and came back saying it would be okay to serve us but at that point I told him we were all set and left. They didn't deserve our business after treating us like that. I will never go back or go to any other establishment...
