My absolute favorite burger in town.

FULL DISCLOSURE - I've never had the burger at H&F, but you know what I really like about Bocado? I can order the burger WHENEVER I WANT! I've heard the tales about H&F on a Saturday night at 10PM, and as much as I want to try that burger I hate they way it's hyped up.

Anyways, Bocado is a double edged sword. The rest of the menu is decent, but not mind blowing. The deviled eggs are really good, and the burger is just heaven. I tried ordering something else once and regretted not getting the burger for the rest of the night. I've been here numerous times and in my opinion the only reason to come is to get the burger.

Now the downside, and it's a huge downside. The service here is HORRIBLE! If it's busy, which is essentially everyday for lunch, and weekends for lunch and dinner, expect to wait 10-15 minutes to give your drink order. Then at least another 5 minutes to receive your drinks. Then another 5 minutes before a server comes back to take your order. The only reason I give this place three stars is because of the burger. Honestly, I wouldn't come here if it wasn't for that delicious hamburger. If you are going to Bocado, I recommend dinner on a weeknight. That seems to be the time when they are not too crowded and the service moves up...

First thing I noticed when I walked in the door was that this place smells like a grease trap. For those of you fortunate enough to have never worked in the restaurant industry, imagine collecting all the grease you ever use to cook with and storing it in a hole in kitchen floor, and letting it go rancid so that the stench penetrates your entire house, and then imagine eating in the dining room just a few feet away from that dank, rancid hole. Second thing I noticed was the noise level, which was nearly unbearable. I don’t know why designers choose to entirely shun sound absorbent materials when considering a room where people will want to be able to hear each other in conversation over a shared meal. I also don’t know why anyone would choose to have a business meeting here, though I saw several taking place; I hope no one was misheard to the point of a deal going as sour as that grease trap. The third thing I noticed was how dried out the piece of chicken was on my sandwich, and how the attempt to disguise that with spicy coleslaw failed miserably. The burger stack? You’ll definitely find a better, and similarly named item somewhere else in Atlanta. The fries were pretty good, but that one exception to the suppressed retching, and tinnitus inducing experience is not worth a...

Only giving 3 stars due to overall experience. I'll start by saying that the food was fantastic. I had the burger which they are known for and it didn't disappoint. I followed that up with the bread pudding which was absolutely.... delicious. Possibly the only bread pudding that rivals my mother's version(IMHO). With that said our service was very lackluster. I would like to stress that this was only regarding our actual server. The hostesses and everyone else were great. Our server was extremely slow and inattentive. There were several times when we needed him and we watched him walk right by us without checking in. Once my burger came I waited patiently for our server to come so I could ask for ketchup. Eventually I grew tired of letting my food get cold and just asked another server or food runner who promptly responded. It even took this guy forever to cash out the check. We had to ask another server to go get him and she just ended up cashing us out. The small tip we left was reflective of our service(which I hate doing because I used to be a server), but I don't feel like anyone should have to pay top dollar for inadequate service. Maybe next time will be better. That is if...

We had a party of 4 at 5:30 pm on a Monday night. Not sure if it’s due to COVID or us eating super early, but there was no wait. We sat outside. Tables were spaced well over 6 feet apart and easily allowed for social distancing. Waiters wore masks. Our waitress was really kind to inform us that they automatically add 20% tip to the bill. We got the Aloe-ha ($12) and the Golly Llama ($14). Everyone enjoyed their drinks! The Aloe-ha was refreshing. I got the Bocado Burger Stack with garlic herb fries ($16.50 + $1). I’m not really sure why garlic herb fries are an extra dollar. They’re essentially the same as regular fries, just with some extra spices. My friends got the Westside Bocado Burger Stack, which is an extra $2. Again, not sure why the up-charge for a few extra ingredients. The burgers are not cheap, so I feel like an up-charge is unnecessary. Another friend got the Ravioli ($13), which she said tasted as good as it looked. Stuffed with butternut squash, it seemed perfect for fall. Everything was delicious. The service was great. I understand they’re in an expensive area, but if they’re going to keep prices the way they are, I wish they wouldn’t up-charge every little thing.

One of the best, if not the best, burgers in Atlanta. I've been to a lot of restaurants, bars, food competitions, etc and really can't think of too many burgers that can compete. At the time of this writing I just did the Atlanta Magazine Burger Battle the weekend before and nothing came close to this (well maybe the NFA Burger). Add bacon if you're a bacon lover; they add a couple of thick slices and it's the perfect level of crispiness and has a smoky flavor. The garlic herb fries are also quite good so make sure you pay the extra $1 for that. They of course have other menu options but I've only ordered an entree other than a burger once. If you're a big deviled eggs fan I would splurge on these. Very good. Cocktails.....I usually do the Big Business. They have a nice selection of liquor. If you're a brown drinker you won't be disappointed.

A delicious delight! We had a really fun night at this new hot spot with friends and loved everything we ate. Particular favorites included: - Red snapper perfectly prepared on a bed of elevated grits - ALL the bread including the pizzas. You can really taste the sourdough difference and smoky wood-fired flavor. - The marinated mushrooms on the pizza were so good, I would order extras on the side - The remoulade for the artichoke appetizer was really tasty - The tiramisu was fantastic - Excellent wine menu - we had a bottle of the Pinot Noir If you’re looking for a Midtown vibe near the perimeter with a great buzz, beautiful decor, great food and great service, check it out now before you can’t get a table.
