Off The Grill — Restaurant in Sanger

The food here is truly the best comfort food in town. It’s like eating food from the most well known places in bigger cities like Fresno but brought into Sanger with little twists added that make everything truly unique from everything else. Everything I have eaten has been worth the price so in terms of taste and quality, I can highly recommend this place.

However, if you want a quick meal be aware that the wait times are obscenely long. I wish I were exaggerating. I waited almost an hour for two burger meals and a sandwich meal. If the food wasn’t so good I would consider this unacceptable but I do believe the food is worth the wait time. Just be aware that unless you call in your order, you will be waiting a long period of time and will find yourself waiting outside since the space within is so limited when you consider COVID precautions. When I went I seen them give a taste sample to a customer which of course involved her removing her mask which she didn’t replace during the remainder of her time inside. Something I hope is rectified. Furthermore, I am hopeful that as time passes and the business streamlines their processes that their preparing time will improve and hope they stick to the safety mandates in place.

I want to note that they place an emphasis on taking new orders instead of handing out prepared ones as I observed my order waiting on the counter for nearly 15 minutes while two employees focused solely on taking new orders. I hope they find a balance of taking and distributing orders more efficiently.

Very disappointing.. Me and my co-workers were so excited to order from this place and just wasn’t what I expected. So I ordered the pulled pork sandwich, Mac n cheese, and wedges. The sandwich was drier than the Mojave desert; it didn’t even contain any type of bbq sauce in it!!! The Mac n cheese was all mushy and I’m convinced the opened a box of dollar tree kraft Mac and cheese and served it to us for 8 dollars. The chicken strips weren’t even strips but an entire chicken fillet breast, like how difficult is it to just cut it up. Additionally, the wedges were so raw I could’ve made vodka with them! I’m assuming they rushed through our order without thought or care just because it was take out. To top it all off, they forgot one of our orders. The only reason I’m not giving this place one star instead of the two is because the chicken fillet (strip) actually tasted decent although the fries were painfully mediocre. I’ll come back next year to see if...

Placed online order approx 1:45pm for pick up @ 2:10 pm. Get phone call @ 1:55pm telling me my order is ready for pickup. Why even request a pick up time. Ordered the tri-tip salad and asked if the tri-tip would be hot when picked up at @2:10pm. Yes was the answer. Hopefully the lettuce is not wilted trying to keep it warm for the next 15 mins. 1st time ordering and thought I would try it out. 5 stars are for promptness only. Hopefully the food deserves the same rating. And hopefully if I order again I'll order 10 mins prior to pickup expecting the same promptness.

Okay, result after pickup. Wasn't able to download pic from their website for your comparison. Their pic showed small chunks of tri-tip. My pic shows long slices. Plenty of meat but how was I supposed to eat it. Only received a fork and had to tear it into pieces. The meat was cold but the lettuce was still crisp. Overall rating 3 stars cause nothing...
