Another update: Now on top of the sneakily placed 18% top they want to penny pinch (new never before seen employee) for 3 pieces of lettuce and grated carrot! I tell her "Well THAT'S new...to which said NEW employee says we always charge for extras....🤣. I tell her"Yeah THAT'S not true. I've been coming for quite a while now and that's just not true and being that I've not seen you before, I doubt you even know."
So now she can finagle a tip out of the "extra charge" that is a straight up LIE, because not only will I scratch through the 18% they automatically add NO MATTER IF IT'S TO GO... ALTHOUGH MENU CLEARLY STATES 18% ON TABLES OF 5....They try to vaugely under the table in slipping in that %. They will ask if u want your reciept AFTER you agree to ONE total, say YES! And then youll see an 18% added AFTER THE FACT! This newbie just lied her way out of a cent for a tip! I AM SO OVER SCAMMERS AND HUSTLERS
Update: still say Amazing food! With that said...I went for takeout for lunch today and was slightly annoyed at the little attempt to slip in a seriously generous tip for themselves without a peep! The bill came to 48.69 which is another little irritating tidbit as the price on here and the ACTUAL price are close to twice as much!! So she brings the bill (green ticket) and says 48.69 ... I hand her the card and she comes back with not a word and asks me to sign. Which I DID but refused the "bonus" they added. Now I will be watching my account to see if they forced it through for the total I AGREED TO! Don't think I won't contact the bank with this pic! It is NOT legal to withold added gratuity fee to the customer!
Amazing pho and a little...
Read moreThe people were nice enough and explained what’s going on with shortages in fresh ingredients. I don’t think the quality issue was entirely their fault. I ordered chicken pho but the bean sprouts were slimy and brown. They did say they just got their shipment in today and that the browning is due to the heat while in transport rather than not being fresh. I was not allowed to purchase extra basil due to them not having enough which I understand can happen sometimes these days so no big deal. I’m picky with Thai because I have no patience for wilted brown veggies. Thai is supposed to be all about freshness of the basil and other veggies. The salad rolls were predominantly bagged iceberg salad that was brown and wilted. The actual soup broth was luke warm when it came out but not hot. The ingredients were a tad bit skimpy too. Nothing looked fresh at all. Not even the peanut sauce was good. There was a frothiness to the peanut sauce that was not the right texture at all. The husband and wife were not rude and the wife was kind & apologetic. I hope they are able to figure out a better market to source/transport their ingredients. Never skimp on freshness and quality. No matter how hard times become. Never make your...
Read moreWe’ve been to Lieu’s a few times and always had a great experience. With delicious pho, great prices, and good service it was a hidden gem. However, we went in today and had a TERRIBLE experience. I ordered the chicken soup and it came out with just a few pieces of shredded chicken rather than the generous slices of chicken that usually come piled on top at any other restaurant. Also, the broth was very dark and smelled off, it seemed like beef broth which I don’t eat. When asked, we were told it was chicken but it had sat out too long and darkened over time- not something you want to tell customers. My boyfriend ordered 3 cuts of beef in his pho and there were just a few limp pieces of flank. Both of soups looked and smelled like leftovers from the week before, everything was just mixed together and dumped in bowls. We didn’t touch our soup and just asked to pay for our drinks and appetizers so we could leave. We were told “we don’t really send food back once it’s out” and they refused to take off the soups from our check. After arguing they only took one item off and were very rude about it. This place used to be great and we’re not sure what caused the drastic change but unfortunately we won’t...
