My wife and I drive by this place all the time but had never eaten here. A couple of friends ate there last week and told us it was really good so we met another couple at Mezcales last night...this place is AWESOME! The chips and salsa are really good...I personally like warm salsa and their's isn't but it tastes good. We had the loaded queso and everyone enjoyed it, wouldn't say it's the best but it's really good. We got here at 5pm...left at 10 when they closed. $2.25 schooners of beer, Bud Light, Coors Light, Dos XX...Miller Lite is on the menu for draft but they didn't have it in stock. $2.50 small margaritas, $4.99 schooner margaritas. I had one too many apparently...they don't taste strong but in hind sight, they are...now I know! Ha. Food was really good. Nachos were awesome, chimichanga was great...the place is great. Service might have been the best. Our waitress was Cenea and if I never have another waitress there other than here I'll be just fine...she was fast, attentive and very nice. Met the owner, Francisco...he came and talked to us at the table...we told he and Cenea that we want to buy the bigger, round table in the corner so we can come here all the time and always have that spot. I'm from south Texas and am very particular about my Mexican food...I'm a little irritated that I've lived here for 15 years and just found this place (although it's only been here for 2 years) but I'm happy to have found it. We'll be back often. You should check it out. Also...we sat in the bar area...we like to drink, laugh and have a good time and it's a pretty lively area, really lively actually. There were a lot of other tables having a really good time. I completely dig this place, we all did....
Read moreI'm so happy we found this place outside of Fort Worth!
We were wanting to try something new in the area, and wanted some jumbo margaritas and TexMex food, so this was just the right spot to hit up and check out!
It looks a little bit unassuming from the outside, but once you're inside, the atmosphere is loud, fun, colorful, and crowded! It was clearly a very popular spot in the area, but they were still doing a good job with distancing and other protocols.
There was a wait before being seated, but it didn't take too long. The service was very quick. They were bringing out chips and taking our orders in no time at all. Speaking of the chips, they were very tasty! A great thickness and crunch to them, which went perfectly with the salsa provided. One of my favorite chips and salsa's provided at a TexMex place.
The margaritas were only $6.50 for the large ones, and they tasted great and were pretty strong, so you can feel them really well! The food was also very cheap, with most plates being under $10 and very generously portioned! I got the 'Dolores H' plato, which came with a taco, tamale, and enchilada, as well as rice and beans. All of them were absolutely delicious, filling, and nicely presented on the plate! I especially LOVED the cheese on the enchilada. Everything had yummy sauce all over it, and all of the toppings and seasonings went along great.
I was extremely satisfied with everything hear. The prices were great, the portions were big enough to have plenty of leftovers and have a full stomach, the food tasted delicious, and the margaritas were big, cheap, and fun! The servers were also very quick and friendly with keeping everything flowing smoothly. A definite must...
Read moreWife and I tried out this brightly colored building, Mexican food place the other day. Weâve always seen a lot of cars parked outside. Felt welcomed the moment we walked in by our hostess. The tables and chairs were simple with slight distressed look. From what we could see, the bar around the corner was comfortably lit and had TVâs. Our server brought out the chips and salsa to our table and took our drink order. The chips were thin and crispy. The salsa wasnât exactly hot, but it was very flavorful. The ingredients were roasted. Nice touch. I had their Enchiladas Verde and my wife had the Platillo Don Miguel. The enchiladas were awesome! The green sauce and season shredded chicken were so good. My wife enjoyed the her beef taco and cheese enchiladas. This was our first visit. The second visit, we were again very welcomed. Had the same waiter, Jr. Drink order taken and I ordered Camarones Al Mesquite (photos) and wife ordered the beef fajitas. My shrimp had cheese and jalepeno wrapped with bacon. It was served with rice and I asked for their refried beans instead of the grilled vegetables. Their beans are really good. I also had a side of garlic lemon butter sauce for my shrimp. Really delicious! My wifeâs beef fajitas were very tender and had that mesquite flavor throughout and had plenty of fixins for them as well. Really great food and itâs a family run business. Really nice people. Highly recommend it. I know thereâs plenty of other places along HWY 199. But make sure you at least give this one an...
