El Vaquero Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Santa Ana

Steak tacos have no flavor.... They aren't terrible but the steak needs more seasoning, the tacos a tiny hence the 1.50 price so it's OK. Just need to order a lot if you're hungry. The young girl who took my order spoke perfect English yet she didn't know what a steak taco was. She asked "CARNE"... Really? I also ordered Birria tacos thinking it was the deep fried ones but low and behold I was ignorant to the fact that birria meant the meat is prepared a certain way and not that birria was the deep fried tacos that I only knew about. After I got my food and I thought I didn't get the birria tacos I asked where my birria tacos were. The girl who took my order said "oh you wanted the deep fried ones?" I said yes... And she replied we don't...

I gave this place another shot and ordered late night delivery... it was great!

So than i ordered again 2 days later and I wouldn't feed what they gave me to my dogs! Ordered a burrito eith extra asad no beans and rice and I got a burrito full of old rice and old beans.... don't stay open late if you have to do this a customer! Like the most messed up thing a restaurant can do is throw a bunch of left overs into a burrito and before they close and ruin a customer's order... makes you wonder whst other corners they cut to make a buck?

I ordered a steak burrito and the last time it was great and this time they gave some grizzly greasy shredded, (who knows what kind of meat it was) ... one bite and I...

I honestly do not understand how this place has such a high rating? I ordered nachos, “you pick the ingredients they make it to order”..... Lies!!!! My chips were old and stale, there were no beans on my nachos, barely any cheese, Only store bought, cold shredded cheese, a can of jalapenos dumped out on top, carrots and all. It was so ridiculous I had to laugh.

My gf ordered the shrimp cocktail with tostadas... She got a cup old shrimp cocktail, and crackers, all stale, canned, store bought, nothing authentic. All for $50, this place should be ashamed of what they put out and call food. Don't waste your money, do not believe the 4 star rating, it's all lies. I just hope they are stopped before...
