Came here over the weekend for lunch. 3 stars due to food being very delicious. Otherwise it would be a 2 star
Arrival: We were asked to sit anywhere but it take about 15 mins for us to get menus. Not sure what the issue was as there seem to be plenty of staff and the waitresses we're behind the register just talking.
Food: delicious but it did take 10 mins or so to get our drinks from the time we ordered and about another 20-25 mins to get our food. Anytime we needed something we had to wave someone down. We ordered couple drinks which were good but a bit expensive for what you get.
Conclusion: we dropped about $120 before tip just on food and couple drops for 2. Even with us ordering drinks we still had to keep looking for service. The food is delicious but portions are small and food and drinks are a bit high to what you get. Our service was the biggest letdown and there was literally only 2 other parties besides us. I would hate to think what it would be like in a packed day. Most employees were talking to each other and seem to really neglect customers. We waited about 15 mins to see if they could bring us the check before we had to get up and ask for it. There are plenty of other Mexican seafood spots within the same street. I would honestly look for an...
Read moreHector's Mariscos is probably the num 1 in my book for Authentic Mexican restaurant more specialty in mariscos with your Mexican favs like michelada in OC not just for the food but for the whole experience really. There’s live music at peak times. For the restaurant being as busy and packed they got us in with minimal wait. The security people were so nice got us in and even found us parking. Very well managed place, for sure. I’ve had their tacos but just came to get pick them up cause it gets busy. The red salsa is really good. The green salsa was very hot even for me. My problem is that I just keep eating it. They actually, brought me my michelada right as my mouth was burning. Also the waitresses are so attentive and always checking on you. If you like loud music sit behind a 🎺 player. This place is popping always live fast and loud a...
Read moreWent in on a Saturday night. Food was pretty good, beers were a little expensive, and the live band that was playing only stayed for about an hour. Makes sense considering there weren't many people. My boyfriend and I wondered why the place wasn't filled with people, the ambiance was good, the food was good, the music was good. When the bill came, we got our answer. They charged us $5 a beer, q bit pricey but whatever. When we asked for another basket of chips, and an extra side of frijoles, they charged us $1.50 each! Not to mention charging us separately for a Michelada: the beer, Clamato, AND the cup it came in! Pretty ridiculous. Was good to try out but not...
