Mariscos El Cangrejo Nice — Restaurant in Santa Ana

It was my first time coming here. The owner was super nice and he sat us down. As he hands us the menu he points out that 15% tip will be automatically be added to our bill for a party of 6. which was fine but we was a party of 4 and the 15% was still added!! We didn't argue it. A waitress came introduce herself we order our drinks she brought them and that was the last time we saw her. 20min went by and we call over a guy that was serving the table around us and he took our food order brought it and that was the last time we saw him as well. From that point we was just calling over whoever walk by us that work there to order more drinks or whatever it was that we needed. We sat there enjoy the karaoke and did a little dancing. The atmosphere was cool but service was horrible. Nobody came to ask us if we needed anything or to pick up any of our empty plates or cups. Purchased gobernador tacos and asked for 2 chipotle sauces and the guy told me I had to pay $1.99 for each 4oz sauces. I have been coming to this restaurant for years and have never been charged for sauce. He ended up giving me 1 sauce for my tacos. Don’t come here unless you want to eat dry tacos.

The gobernador tacos are dry, they always have been. The sauce is what makes them good. You don’t need 8oz of sauce for 2 tacos, we normally use about 6oz. (3oz for each taco).

Whats excessive is you wanting to charge $1.99 for sauce. I would understand 75 cents but $1.99?

Now your food is not “affordable” and you have been increasing your prices. I have been going here for years and I just ordered 2 times this week. We paid $50 for 4 items. So as a customer I think I’m allowed at least 1 extra sauce.

Customer service was bad Went on a Saturday 10/07/23 12:30am took about 10 mins to get drinks. my carne asada plate was horrible, rice was old, dry & hard, my carne asada tasted like fish. Flagged down the waitress and told her and she took the plate and walked away. I Got up and got a menu and told her i wanted to change the order and she gave me attitude and told me to sit down and take a look at the menu.. as i walked to my table she followed me and right when i sat down she asked what i wanted. She then said something to the cook and manager and they both starred at me with a bad look for a while and i felt uncomfortable. Meat did not have any seasoning at all.
