Came here late at night a few times to swing by for a snack or the study. Overall, it was a pretty good experience except for a few things I will bring up in a general review of the establishment below.
Lantern Grill is located on 1st St, relatively close to Bristol and little bit further away from Santa Ana College. It is pretty easy to miss from traffic as it sits inside one of those small plazas on 1st. Parking is pretty small but this plaza does not get too busy so I would assume there would always be parking.
Going inside the first time, it can be a little bit overwhelming as there is alot going on. There is plenty of seating, although it is a little bit cramped. There is a no-shoe seating area next to the register that has more of a Japanese element to it as you are essentially seated in coffee tables with cushions the ground. It is a really nice and unique element. Other than the seating, there is a lot of decorations everywhere which can look a bit messy bit I see it as character. It can be a bit messy and dirty, but nothing too serious. The bathroom door doesn't have a lock, which scared me at first, but it cannot be opened from the outside so don't be too worried.
Both times that I have went, I tried their Boba Milk Tea which was pretty good but I would say is a bit pricey. The Boba Milk Tea with boba and a large upgrade ended up being $6 which was alot more than most boba places around that area. The food isn't too pricey as I got Popcorn Chicken for around $5 which is pretty typical.
Customer service was good and fast so there is nothing to complain about that.
Overall, I would definitely come back to study as they close at 2AM, which is definitely hard to find as most places close as late as 12AM. The food and drinks here are also great so...

Whoever came up with the idea to open earlier deserves a raise. It's quite rare for boba shops to open earlier than 11 AM which is annoying, to be honest. My sister and I are definitely using this place to study from now on. The menu offers a decent range of drink options as well as light food options.
Lychee Green Tea: 9/10 - light flavor and comes with chia seeds Passionfruit Green Tea: 8/10- sweet and tart Honey Boba (Topping): 7/10 - soft and chewy but got hard after a couple of hours
The interior is pretty spacious and they have a decent amount of seating. The only downside about the shop is that they're located in a tiny plaza with limited parking. I have no idea what it'd look like at peak hours so try your best to carpool if you plan on meeting friends!
Our favorite part was that they had boba ready early in the morning -- which never happens. Usually, boba shops don't have boba cooked until about 30 minutes after they open so we were impressed. The employees were also so friendly and welcoming which made our experience that much more enjoyable!

Read moreThe place is cozy, they have an area where you are required not to take your shoes off, very nice and clean place. Did Yankees a little too long for the quality, not really impressive. I didn't even dare to take pictures of the food because to start with I did not asked for food to go and the guy taking the orders didn't seem to be happy doing so, not friendly, not approachable, not listening, not even answering my questions about the menu; I just ordered whatever seem to look "good" on the pictures, but I did not find it good, it was just ok: some sample plaster and mango chicken, not impressive at all, and since it was served to go, not even the cute plate to make take the picture worth it. Not sure if they have bathrooms, since the place is so small it's not visible; and with the kind of service they have I didn't care if they have nice clean cleaning areas or not... The only great thing about this place is that they serve food full late at night! Which is awesome and I think that's the reason why people like it. I liked they place, if it wouldn't had been for the service this could have probably be a 5...
