Review:
I recently had the pleasure of dining at this hidden gem of a sushi restaurant, and it was nothing short of an authentic Japanese experience. The sushi chefs here are true masters of their craft. From the moment you sit down, you're greeted with a warm smile and a few jokes that make the entire experience even more enjoyable. It's rare to find such a combination of skill and personality in a sushi bar.
The quality of the food is outstanding. Every piece is meticulously prepared, and the flavors are impeccable. The scallops were incredibly tender, and the tuna belly just melted in my mouth—easily some of the best I've ever had. Even the iced tea was a pleasant surprise, perfectly brewed and refreshing.
The restaurant itself is easily accessible, with plenty of parking available, making it convenient for anyone in the area. This is more than just a place to eat; it’s a true sushi experience that feels both traditional and welcoming. Anyone who appreciates authentic sushi would be lucky to find this spot.

Read moreHi BluGummites! You know this little gummy bear doesn't like to have to do this... but Sushi Murasaki was a big disappointment why didn't I leave when I walked in? why didn't I leave when the two male chefs - (who I believe are the owners from the quick BG research BG conducted) gave off an unwelcoming, judgmental vibes? quite literally looking a bear up and down why didn't I leave when salmon sashimi wasn't on the menu? ...at a SUSHI restaurant? The only welcoming thing about the joint was the kind female server thank you, madame thank you for your light in an otherwise dark pit of ego, pretentiousness, and VERY average sushi your target was eclectic-ness and uniqueness - I get it but you missed now, this lil bear wouldn't have been so harsh just now if those two behind the sushi bar were kind if they gave off even an iota of warmth or gratitude that I spent my time and money in their establishment (also... WAY too expensive)
Anyways - please do better. Get over yourselves. and so I've gotta give a 4 out of 10...
Read moreThis is a great, underrated omakase spot in OC and has been around a long time. It is traditional, unpretentious, and almost nostalgic in a way compared to the many overpriced trend-chasing omakase restaurants that have cropped up in recent years. I found the quality and freshness of the fish to be excellent, and I enjoyed their effective use of torching to get a nice savory charred flavor on some of the pieces. The garnishes and seasonings used were fresh and flavorful without overpowering the delicate seafood -- scallion soy oil, ginger paste, seasoned salt, and of course the fancier caviar and shaved truffle featured on our 12-piece omakase, complementing each item without overdoing it. The accompanying puffed rice soup (served in a teacup) had no business being as good as it was. Prices were reasonable given the quality, beer and sake selection was good, and service was attentive and friendly. Parking was plentiful. Overall, a classic and comfy omakase experience worth experiencing -- these folks deserve...
