The Lost Bean Organic Coffee & Tea — Restaurant in Santa Ana

This is a great coffee shop that mostly serves the surrounding offices during the work week. It's rarely busy and offers a chill, relaxed environment with both indoor and outdoor seating and free wifi. There is a cozy, quieter work space in the back if you are looking for something more private.

The staff are friendly and personable and will quickly get to know you if you're a regular. Karina and Shaun in particular are individuals that you look forward to seeing behind the counter and are excellent barristas to boot.

There are a few interesting specialty drinks that are worth trying but I'm a pretty boring guy and usually stick with a basic coffee or tea. The Black Hawaiian tea is a personal favorite. One of my coworkers is in love with the Better than Bulletproof. Without a doubt, the coffee here soundly beats what the office gives for free, to the point where the office coffee is now intolerable (and we're brewing SB, Peets or other similar quality products). They have all the fancy milk substitutions if you're into that and will happily customize your drink if you ask.

They do serve a few obligatory assorted pastries and such, quiche, and some small lunch items. Anything I've tried was good, if not a bit overpriced which is fairly standard for coffee shops. I wouldn't eat here on the regular, but they are a good option when you're rushed and need a light snack or lunch to hold you over until later.

This place is a rip off. I was there last week, got charged $6.25 for a medium caramel latte with whipped cream. Can today asked for the same order in a small instead of medium and she wanted to charge me $5.50. When I told here that the last time she charged me $6.25 for a medium, she said well, we raised the prices, I asked her when she raised the price she said “last month”. When I then told her that I was only there a week before, she rolled her eyes and said, well we changed the price. So I left with lout completing my purchase. Simply she wants to take advantage of her customers. Luckily I still have the previous receipt, as you can see she added a .25 cents charge for caramel 3...

Greeted at entrance. After settling and watching several others order drinks and get them, decided to get mine. Ordered a drink and paid and tipped, was only person in queue. Employees proceeded to treat me like I was invisible and had not paid for drink for about three songs. After quite a bit of wait, trekked back up the counter to ask if my order was ‘on the way’ since had not heard blender or anything to indicate it was.
