The Taste of Egypt — Local services in Costa Mesa

This is a completely redone version of my original 1 star review:

Someone from the team called me tonight and we resolved the issue. It wasn't ideal but they explained they're a small business with some missing staff and I wouldn't want to hurt them before they get their feet off the ground. He was fairly patient and explained where my dissatisfaction may have come from on their part. Customer service issues also came from technical difficulties on their end. He also explained steps they're taking to improve their product. Recommended that until they refine their snack box program, it is probably better to buy the individual items + shipping ($8).

The product itself is fine. The website doesn't have a list of what could possibly be in it so it's a complete lottery that I unfortunately did not luck out on. Snacks are comparably smaller to other online vendors, but they package it better in my opinion and ship a lot faster. It came in one of those bubble-wrap padded bags. They could probably avoid further complaints by providing rough size dimensions for each of the boxes.

It's a gift so I haven't personally tried it but the snacks look really good (even if they are just different brands for the same item). They do get a lot of praise from other reviews about the taste and nostalgia and stuff so 5 stars for that.

My previous review was 1 star but I felt satisfied enough with this call to give them 2 more. Only reason it isn't 4 or 5 is because of the original issues and frustration I encountered.

Best way to contact them= Instagram direct message or phone call. Email and the website bot are not the way to go.

Fun, fast shipping, but underwhelming. I ordered the Super box subscription, which is shown as a big square box on the site, containing 18-20 snacks. A small, flat pizza-like box arrived and most of the snacks were loose, single serving/tiny or fun-sized versions of candies. There is currently no guide or listing of what's included, so you kinda have to be familiar with these snacks/Arabic language, especially if you have any food allergies. Like there was a piece of amardeen in there (apricot fruit leather) inside a clear wrapper with no markings.

I have included pics. You can decide if this box is worth $40+. I'm happy to support a small business and I wish them success, but will give it another month before I decide if I keep the...

I ordered on 03/06/2022 and received my box 03/21/2022 and was disappointed to say the least. The box of biscuits wasn't sealed and was opened while being shipped. The biscuts got crushed and there's butter/ghee all over the box and the rest of the products. I can't believe there was nothing to keep the products in tact while being shipped in this box!
