What can I say grew up going to all the yellow baskets it was / is a family business. Yellow Basket started over the the years serving non uniform menus from each other which was okay but when you wanted what the other had in a different city they didn’t have the same menu. For years we would go out of our way to drive miles on miles just to eat here however within the past few years the restaurants started closing leaving 2 of the main flag ships open. The reason I’m giving the store a 3 is because the price for a breakfast burrito almost took me to the poor house and this is a low income neighborhood. We used to come here because of the low price and quality food I mean to say more “reasonable price” but emphasis on “Used to”.
Now the price is at least 7-12 extra then most of the smaller joints with a large cult following like Burger Stop, Main Charbroiled Burger, Lucky Guys Burger, Charlie’s, Cowgirls, bunz burgers, dukes, pops cafe, and (Fight me if you want) Yogis Teriyaki. So there you have it the price is insane you can’t match Charlie’s energy and increase the price when the quality didn’t go up with the price it’s too later for that redeem yourself and sell breakfast burritos for $10 and make em bangin or vanish with the rest of the old great spots like...
Read moreI was in the area on business and thought I'd stop in for breakfast. What's not better than a nice hefty diner breakfast? Not in the mood for anything fancy, I decided to keep it simple: Sides of hasbrowns, over-medium fried eggs, and bacon. My hashbrowns were yummy, perfectly crispy outside and soft inside potatoes. The eggs were cooked really good! One thing I learned from watching The Mentalist is you can judge a place by how they cook their eggs. You can't get cooked to order eggs from McDonald's or other quick-serve restaurants, so when I can get them I take advantage of it. My wife introduced me to over-medium fried eggs. Now many times when I order over-medium eggs the yolks are much too firm and the whites are runny (a feat I have yet to unravel the mystery of how that happens). But these yolks were perfectly runny (the best to dredge your hashbrowns and bacon through), and the whites were firm. The bacon was a little crispier than I like, but I figure if I had asked for floppy bacon they would have made it for me. But I didn't think of it at the time so no big deal. The food was prompt and hot and the lady that brought it to me smiled real big. Before I left I ordered a BLT to go for lunch. Although it was a few hours later, it...
Read moreAwe man, yellow basket I really had high hopes and I was sadly disappointed. Me and my family loved the chili cheese fries from your grand location so we made the drive to the dyer location and orders 2 boxes of chilli cheese fries and a large Dr. pepper which came out to 29. Something almost 30 dollars. I was hesitant to try them when I opened the boxes as you can tell the fries had been refried more than once as they looked almost transparent and stained a chili cheese red color. The amount of fries in each box was laughable I know that times are hard (trust me single mom with 3 kids and 2 of them that have special needs and I'm barely staying afloat. I get it moneys funny, for everyone) I know complaining about a purchase I made a couple of weeks ago might be useless but I know there is probably another mother out there that might need some advice on how to spend hard earned money and maybe they are looking at reviews like I often do. Look yellow basket I don't expect anything I review and I report for the next...
