Foremost, DART Coffee Co. is a wholesale business. As this is the case we had the opportunity to enjoy their coffee via one of their local Santa Barbara accounts, Helena Bakery, which is a short walk from their roasting facility. Helena's displayed a limited selection of DART Coffee, all of which were from Mexico, Finca La Barranca (that day, of course), and sold bags for $16 per 12oz. As it was drip/batch brew from an account - rather than the roaster themselves - it was difficult to assess the quality of the beans as the roaster intended (hence the 4 stars). We will say that there were obvious chocolate and nutty notes, although that's quite common of the region.
From our experience, we would suggest purchasing bag(s) from DART's website, and home brewing if you have the resources.

Coffee: Specialty grade from and sourced from local importers including Bodhi Leaf. Roasted, from what we've experienced, medium-dark range for a Central with a heavy Central and South American lineup at the time of this writing.
Equipment: All beans roasted in house on a Diedrich IR-12.
Location: This is a wholesale business with mostly local accounts throughout central CA. It's our understanding that deliveries of coffee purchased via their site may be free for the local SB community.
Final Note: We're super excited to see more local roasters popping up in Santa Barbara County and look forward to cupping some of DART's other coffees that are available, you should...
Read moreThis coffee shop is on the corner of Yanonali St. and Gray Ave. with very limited parking. Adjacent to Tamar Restaurant, they operate out of the same building and share seating space. During my 1st visit, it seemed unclear if Darts' customers could use the seating space, so I ordered takeout. I had their 'Hot Latte' with an 'Everything Bagel'. Both tasted amazing! The latte was smooth and creamy with a perfect balance of milk and espresso. It's such a great feeling when the right barista handles your drink! The bagel was perfectly toasted, yet so soft inside with the right seasoning. The menu lists one price for each specialty drink, so I was not able to get a larger latte. I was served a 12 oz drink. I almost passed on this experience because I couldn't find parking and the line was out the door. So I got out of my car while my husband drove around and I waited in line. Surprisingly, the line moved quickly. Service was friendly and welcoming. The Café is cute, with a soft feminine aesthetic. Clean and organized. Overall, I had a good experience here and...
Read moreWhen in Santa Barbara and looking to play a game of darts check out dart coffee company while they don't have darts they have the word dart printed on many of their marketing materials and their signage. I'm a big fan of playing darts, bar darts, garage starts, or backyard darts. Well the dark coffee company doesn't have any darts I also like the word darts. Darts are fun to throw, but apparently you can also drink them at dark coffee Co.
It would really be nice if the dart coffee Co had darts, I like to play darts, think about darts and dream about darts it's sad to go to a place named darts that doesn't have darts, I would expect that a place named dark coffee Co would have darts.
It is common knowledge that darts can be dangerous I saw a video on YouTube once of a kid who had a dart stuck in his hand. I don't think that can happen at dark coffee company but it would be very common that people drinking coffee and playing darts should be aware of this danger. Darts and dart coffee may not mix well although I would...
