McConnell's Fine Ice Creams — Restaurant in Santa Barbara

I LOVE ice cream. It's one of my favorite desserts, and frankly I think it's the one of the best dessert options out there. This place? SOLID. Makes good on making YOU believe that ice cream is one of the best desserts out there.

There was a line out the door when we got there, and that line got so much longer by the time we left with our purchases. There is limited waiting room inside the store, so most of the time we were waiting outside. Beware of the sun! There is a menu posting their offerings of the day, and the flavors are super fun!

I ended up getting a flight so that I could sample more flavors. Lemon and Marionberry: perfect summer flavor, refreshing yet slightly creamy Earl Grey Tea and Shortbread: had a salty kick to it, wonderful changes in texture, paired with a really fragrant tea flavor Honey and Cornbread: innovative, fantastic, something to call home about -- this was my favorite of the three! the smooth and creamy flavor of the ice cream with hints of honey undertones, coupled with the amazingly grainy (in a good way!) texture of the cornbread blew me away. If I were to come back and get three scoops of anything again from McConnell's, it'd be this flavor for sure.

We loved everything we tried, especially the “Brownie Yumdae”! The rich warm chocolate brownie contrasted beautifully with the vanilla bean ice cream, whipped cream, and caramel syrup. This is a must get order if you come here!

We also got the flight of five different ice creams because we couldn’t decide which ones to try. Honestly, every ice cream flavor was outstanding, but I particularly enjoyed the double peanut butter chip, the sweet cream caramel brownie, and the cookies and cream!

Very popular and trendy ice cream bistro in Santa Barbara. I got the ice cream "sammie" with chocolate chip cookies and vanilla ice cream, which I enjoyed immensely. It is my favorite food and I consider myself something of an aficionado. The cookies were very hard though, leading the ice cream to be smooshed out of the sandwich. Still delicious! My favorite, however, remains, the Villa Dolce Artisan Gelato Vanilla Bean with Chocolate Chip Cookies Sandwiches. You can buy them on Amazon but I’ve never seen it at the grocery store.
