I highly recommend including this fabulous historic fig tree as a pit stop in your travel plans! Its simply amazing! Its the largest known fig tree in the United States! The roots are from 0 to 3' plus tall! You'll leave energised tingly and feeling better and happier because It's energy is magical and awe inspiring! Its a great place to get grounded! Children luv climbing the massive root system as the Adults will truly appreciate it's grandeur! I JUST LUV IT!

So glad I came to see this rare gem. I ❤️ trees. They give me hope for this planet. I follow a YT’er (Max and Occy) and he has an over 500 y.o. Moreton Fig on his 5 acres in 🇦🇺. I visit this one every summer. Unfortunately, not all respect the earth and this tree would be ruined if it weren’t for the chainlink fence surrounding it’s space. Wish SB would do better to protect it and make it more beautiful.

Did you know this is the oldest fig tree in the world? And it's located in Santa Barbara! It really is a shame that it's been neglected and carved up- hence the fence, however you're still able to peer past the chain link fence and stand in awe of the ginormous tree with it's imposing limbs and plentiful figs. If you're in the downtown area and would like to do some exploring, this is for you.

Wow! This fig tree is massive. Located right next to the bus terminal. Really easy to find. The tree casts a giant shade where you can take pictures and just cool off a bit. If you never seen a giant fig tree before, you have to see this one. I would check it out again if I'm in the area. I post honest reviews and pictures of places we visit. Give me a like if you find it helpful.

Impressive tree. Really amazing. Came here for the virtual geocache. Unfortunately only one of the informational plaques was still there (or visible, anyway; there might be another under the low branches on the train side). And the fence, although understandable that it needs to be there, made it kind of difficult to see the tree well. Needs better signage and a nicer fence.

Freaking FANTASTIC!!! Craziest freak of nature tree I've ever seen, branches as thick as a tree trunk & a trunk the size of three. This thing stands on a historic spot where some Spanish conquistador camped 200 years ago, but the tree is cooler than all that. Just stand under the thing, it left me in awe.
