Golkonda is a newly opened Indian restaurant near Levi's Stadium. My college classmates about 12 of us went there around 7PM 2 weeks ago. There is decent crowd but not overflowing. We ordered appetizers Punugulu, Gobi manchurian, Chicken 65 & Chilli Bajji. Me being Vegetarian I tried punugulu, Gobi Manchrian and Chilli Bajji. Gobi Manchurian and punugulu are the best I have ever had. Have punugulu before they get cold. Chilli Bajji is way too spicy for I will never eat it again. My non-vegetarian friends loved chicken 65.
Later we ordered Hyderabad veg dum biriyani, Vijayawada paneer biriyani, Hyderabad chicken dum biriyani, Vijayawada boneless chicken briyani. Again me being vegetarian I had both Hyderabad veg dum biriyani which not too spicy and Vijayawada paneer biriyani which is spicy. I loved both. Golkonda is definitely best biriyani place in town. My non-vegetarian friends also loved both biriyanis. Service is pretty good too.
We loved the food here so much that all of us went there the following week including our spouses total this time 22 people. We ordered the same varieties as the previous week. Our spouses also loved Golkonda food!
All in all if you love Indian food in general and more specifically south Indian spicy or non-spicy Golkonda is one of the best...
Read moreHusband ordered butter chicken VERY SPICY and I ordered goat curry MILD. I have a medical condition that makes spicy food trigger anaphylaxis-like responses when eaten (Mast Cell Activation Syndrome). When we got home his butter chicken was MILD and my goat curry was VERY SPICY. I also can not eat cream-based curries, so I could not just swap his curry (butter chicken) for mine (goat curry).
Our receipt was correctly written & double checked by us/our server (Harsha) so I can only assume the cook/kitchen staff was not paying attention & made the mistake. Unfortunately now I have no dinner to eat after a long week & have to go back out & find something else to eat here in SF which is a huge pain due to parking. I hope the cook/kitchen staff will pay better attention next time for the next customer. I called an provided this feedback to the restaurant as soon as we got home & discovered the mix up.
I was really excited to try this restaurant as I have heard good things but we probably will not be coming back after this experience which is a shame b/c it could have become a cool routine on the way back to SF from Fremont every Friday. It looks like a nice restaurant & their produce was being freshly delivered when we placed our order. Husband says the food...
Read moreWe visited this restaurant for lunch on a Weekday. First of all the restroom was so bad and even the soap dispenser was not working. We have ordered food and waited for an hour to get it. I don’t know why there was a delay becoz there was not much crowd either. We have ordered Special Chicken biryani, Fry piece chicken biryani and mutton suka. Special chicken biryani was chicken curry in that biryani rice where water was coming out of it. It has no taste. Then the fry piece biryani was chicken fry which is in biryani. It was also tasteless. Even the mutton suka has no taste except the taste of daniya powder. I have also ordered for 2 thumbs up out of which one was expired. Overall it was a very bad experience which costed me my money and time. After all this the owner comes and asks for review. When we say one item is okay and another one bad, he tries to intimidate us saying that it is not bad and also gives some stupid reason for the delay of our order saying the printer roll is finished and our order was not printed and hence the delay. But i remember that the server printed the menus after we placed our order, so I don’t think the printer is out of paper. Also the air conditioner is not working and there is no fan and it was extremely hot inside and we were...
