Wow just wow. Combo 4: The meat was incredible. Had great taste, great flavor, and the Brisket was SOFT LIKE BUTTAH! It was just so juicy and beefilicious! I had the Brisket, pulled pork and hot link. The entire plate lasted me all day, i atw only this for the day and nothing else, was completely satisfied. Hot link was standard but always a fav! And the pulled pork was very juicy and delicious, especially with the bbq sauce. I'm not a huge bbq fan, so for me to enjoy this immensely says alot. The sweet beans were fire as well, just because they tasted seasoned and not just a regular can of beans. Very sweet but not like overwhelming. And last but not least, the mac and cheese. It has potential. Although it was a little flavorless, for the presentation you'd expect more flavors bursting in your mouth. Now it wasnt the worst, it was quite good. Just could use more salt in the cheese sauce and maybe even more cheese to intensify the flavor. But overall the experience of this BBQ was A1! And I'm absolutely...
Read moreI don't usually review food, but damnnnn this place is good. After trying different barbeque spots in the bay and being consistently disappointed, I've finally found a solid place.
Here is the spread I ordered:
3 meat/2 side combo Tri-tip: Solid. Probably the best tri-tip i've ever had. Pulled Pork: Super juicy, but not overly greasy. Flavor was awesome and tasty. Brisket: Amazing. It's the type of brisket that you pick up and it begins to break. Perfect bark.
Mac & Cheese: This was an awesome surprise. They make their mac and cheese with some sort of creamy saucy and have a parmesan cheese crust to it. I've never had mac and cheese like this. Very much appreciated. Sweet Beans: The only blemish to the meal. Sauce was great. But, the beans themselves were a undercooked. I went in early, so maybe this is just a product of them just beginning to open up for the day.
Friendly staff, family feel, and great food. Do yourself a favor and give this...

OK, I’ve had the chance now to try that ridiculously popular place in Oakland that’s had tons of praise heaped on it and…Smoked Out is still far better!
I’ve never had bbq in Texas and don’t care about the “authenticity” of any such styles of cooking. I know what tastes good. Damn, the thick slabs of fatty brisket here are buttery, melt-in-your-mouth awesomeness worth risking heart disease for.
Not saying that other place was bad, but their brisket was a tad dry. Definitely not worth waiting in those long lines for ———
It's worth finding this place. The quality of some better-known local barbecues has been declining. Smoked Out's thick cut brisket is tender and moist, their St. Louis pork ribs are succulent, their sauces first-rate, and the potato salad is chef's kiss So if you want flavorful smoked meats during their ridiculously short hours of operation, seek them out in this...
