In an effort to be as fair as possible, I waited a little while before writing this review. With that said, I've eaten a breakfast burrito, had chips and salsa, as well as a barbacoa taco at this place, and it's definitely an acquired experience.

The acquired experience isn't meant to carry a negative connotation, you just have to enter this place with an understanding of what's going on. Because I've seen a variety of mixed reviews, I'm going to give a full run down.

First, it's my understanding that this place mostly specializes in catering at this point, so the restaurant's dine in experience won't satisfy everyone. With so much focus on something else, the business feels cluttered, but if you've ever eaten at a place like this in Mexico, it also feels authentic. It's just not for everyone.

Regarding the food, I also found it authentic. If you aren't used to white corn tortillas, and a heavy reliance in salsa and lime garnishing, you might find the food slightly under seasoned. I suspect the focus in catering large events also has something to do with that.

For the $12.50 my breakfast burrito cost, it definitely outranked some of the other places in town, and I find the prices to be right in line with them as well. Notably, they also have a great Mexican beer selection, including the coveted Does Equis Ambar Especial.

Overall, and I hate to say it, but If you're going to eat here you should probably have a real comfort level with Mexican food and how to salt, lime, and salsa it yourself. That's just the...

So I've seen this restaurant several times since I moved to River Terrace Apartments, it's right next to the 7-11 I vist daily, I love Mexican food, always a great lunch on a construction job site, so I noticed the restaurant back in May, but due to Covid wasn't sure if they were open, well today the door was open and I went in. Yes it was a little quiet to be expected and yes definitely understandable, it looked like a nice family restaurant doing the best they can with what's going on, so I understand that. What impressed me the most was the polite young female Chef, she noticed after a few minutes I was browsing the menu and politely told me where I could order. I gave her my order and I loved how she immediately took the requested meat that I wanted and started cooking it in the pan in front of me the whole cooking process was right in front of me, loved it!!!! So, I ordered more food, and it was nice to see how it was done, I am no expert, but I do noticed hard work, passion for the trade, and trying to do your best. So 5 stars all...

We paid about $50 for a combo quesadilla, and a combo fajitas and 2 sodas. I think we were over charged. When one item is 16.99 another was 16.49, averaging it to be what $20 a plate? The canned soda must of been an outrageous price… oh yeah plus tax. But $50 seems a bit extreme.

Anyways besides that, the owner just stayed facing his computer the entire time he was talking to us and not once turned around so the cook can take down the order. Felt pretty rude. And the food was completely bland. No real flavor was tasted anywhere on the quesadilla nor the fajitas. I was expecting to have my mouth exploded with amazing taste for the price charged. But nope....

This place needs a complete overhaul. I mean come on the office is in the middle of the dining area with no walls. The one female cook/server never changed her gloves while prepping and cooking our food. The gentleman who took our order was nice, but tryn to offer us stuff that wasn’t on the menu was weird. Also 18$ for torta that was bland as hell didn’t come with the avocado as listed. Then they wrap the food in 3 layers of gats damn foil to make it look bigger. Also my burrito was bland. No bueno.. so again this place need a complete makeover and new management, because this place probably can be delicious and more inviting if they remodeled just saying..

I put my culinary reputation on this review. 1 star is 1 too many. It was the worst place I've ever eaten. It looked like a storage room thru up. Dirty tables, dirty warmers, half eaten place sitting on top of food to be served. I ordered 2 tacos and a drink it cost $14. The taco meat was grey, the tortillas seemed microwaved. The salsa was tasteless. Drink was room temperature . Avoid even if free.
