The Good Salad (to go only) — Restaurant in Santa Clara

I would love to give this place one star to gatekeep it because this place is THAT good. I love good salad and I crave it weekly. They are fast, their portions are HUGE, their ingredients are always fresh and taste great. My partner never eats salads but this place, he craves! It's such a hidden gem

Update: I still stand by the quality of the food here, I love it. But since their business is taking off and it's gotten more popular, they're service has diminished. They need to find a new system that works better for people who come to the window. They seem to have a hard time keeping track of who has arrived for the order because they keep asking for your name several times like they don't remember you've been waiting outside for your order.

They often take your name and if it's not ready, they will tell you and close the window, sometimes they won't say anything and close it.. then when the next customer comes, the workers will do the same and completely forget about your order and the cycle will continue until all of the customers (5-8 ppl this time) names have been forgotten and the workers ask for everyone name's AGAIN which tells me they either haven't worked on it since the last time I told them or they completely forgot that I told them my name. And they do it to everyone who is there so it's extremely chaotic because everyone has to ring the bell several times and state their order AGAIN, all while there are new people coming in and the crowd only gets bigger with no orders being served because they can't keep track of who is already there.. it's really frustrating and the lot of us were getting pretty annoyed with having to say the name of our order more...

First time eating here and I was initially happy — the portion was generous, and the flavor was quite good. I was actually thinking of coming back from time to time.

But near the end of my meal, I discovered a large bug in the salad. I looked it up online and it seems to be part of a fruit fly or moth. I immediately returned to the pickup window to report the issue.

What shocked me was the staff’s first reaction: she quickly took the box and closed the window without saying a word. That felt very strange and dismissive. A few moments later, she reopened the window and asked whether I wanted a refund or a replacement. I told her I wasn’t looking for either — I just wanted a quick call or message from the manager.

Unfortunately, no one followed up with me, even after several hours. A simple apology or acknowledgement from the manager would have made me feel better.

What’s even more disappointing is that I saw other reviews mentioning the same issue over a year ago, and it clearly hasn’t been addressed. I hope they take food safety more seriously...

I’m not even going to lie….I absolutely destroyed that salad. You would’ve thought I fasted for 62 hours straight the way I shoveled it into my mouth. My husband was telling me about how this place was really good and I was like SALAD??? GOOD??? 🤢?? I was not about to take his word but then he got it for me today and wow. WOOOOOWWWWWWW. I have to find it within me to admit he was right 😷😷😷. Mind you I’ve never been a salad lover like that. Mostly because the salads I made looked like Frankenstein concoctions and were FOUL. But this place is fantastic. The Good Salad actually makes me believe I can change my unhealthy habits and enjoy eating things that aren’t junk food??? Ew?? What’s happening to me???? LOL. Jokes aside, the box is SO CUTE and it was a yummy experience from start to end. Thanks to my partner for introducing me to TGS and thanks to TGS for putting care into your meals! Wishing you all...
