Chandni Chowk in Santa Clara is a culinary oasis that captures the essence of Indian street food with flair and authenticity. My recent dining experience left me thoroughly impressed, from the first sip of Matka chai to the last bite of Indo-Chinese Triple Schezwan dish.
The Matka chai, served in traditional clay pots, was a delightful start to my meal. Its rich aroma and well-balanced spices set the tone for what turned out to be a culinary adventure. The samosa chat was a burst of flavors, with each bite offering a tantalizing combination of crispy samosa and tangy chat toppings that left my taste buds craving for more.
The Aslam BBQ chicken was a true revelation. Juicy, soft, and creamy, each piece was a testament to culinary perfection. The flavors were exquisite, and the texture was incredibly tender, making it a standout dish that I would highly recommend.
Equally impressive was the Indo-Chinese Triple Schezwan dish. The fusion of Indian and Chinese flavors was executed flawlessly, resulting in a dish that was both comforting and exciting. The spiciness of the Schezwan sauce paired beautifully with the tender vegetables and protein, creating a symphony of flavors that left me thoroughly satisfied.
Beyond the exceptional food, the ambiance of Chandni Chowk is a feast for the senses. The truck dhaba vibes and old Bollywood filmy posters transport diners to the bustling streets of India, creating an atmosphere that is lively and inviting.
What sets Chandni Chowk apart is its convenient operating hours, staying open till 1 am. This makes it the perfect destination for a late-night craving or a post-party meal. Whether you’re looking for a quick bite or a leisurely dining experience, Chandni Chowk delivers...
Read moreHave been to their truck in Fremont quite a few times and loved to food. So was thrilled when they opened up this place a little bit closer to where I'm at. Went for a rainy day pickup. The ambiance here is true to the theme. The person at the register was super friendly. I was admiring the selection on snacks and drinks they had up front, so he offered a bag of potato chips (wafers) on the house :D Also saw me staring at the live pani puri station and had me taste all the flavors of pani they had.
The food: Chole Bhature: I believe these were pindi style. The chole was flavorful and the bhature was packed in a separate container (not foil) which made it retain its texture.
Chicken Chowmein: Tasty with ample amount of chicken which was tender. My kid loved it.
Aslam Chicken: One of the best chicken dishes I have had in the bay area. The chicken was juicy and creamy which paired perfectly with the rumaali roti (which is pretty rare to get in the bay area). I wish they had an option to buy the rumaali roti a-la-carte as well.
Will definitely be back here for more food and the...

I’ve ordered from this place a few times before—food is usually decent. But today, I was really disappointed with the service. When I went to pick up my online order, there were two guys at the counter who didn’t even acknowledge me. I had to tell them I was there for a pickup, and even after giving my name, no one checked until I asked again.
I ordered Aslam Chicken and Chicken Triple Schezwan—both tasted good. But one thing that really bothered me was the so-called “Rumali Roti.” It’s not Rumali Roti at all—just buttered lavash bread. That feels misleading. If you're going to advertise Rumali Roti, it should actually be that.
I also noticed many other reviews mentioning poor customer service—and now I understand why. Just a suggestion: if you want to succeed long-term in the restaurant business, decent food alone isn't enough. It needs to be paired with good behavior and respectful service—whether it's dine-in or takeout. I really hope...
