I went on a Tuesday, and did a walk-in with my family. There was no waiting time but as soon as I walked in, I was told they do not allow strollers, so I asked the host if I could take my kid to the table and will remove the strollers and store it underneath the table. The host mentioned there cannot be strollers at all, so I requested to let me take my child to the table and I will put the stroller back in my car. I started walking towards the table the server waiting by the middle row mentioned same thing that I cannot have stroller in the restaurant, I replied with same answer that I am dropping my child then will take it back to the car. As I got to my table, the another server came and told me same thing that I cannot have stroller at the restaurant. I replied him with the same answer and waited for my family to sit down then went to put the stroller back in the car.
I waited ~10 minutes before a server came to my table and started taking my order. I ordered everything at once as I had to wait too long. I ordered the appetizers (tandoori murgh and non-veg platter), mains (Bhuna gosht, nalli Rogan and butter chicken), with tandoori roti and garlic naan, and requested mango lassi to be given first so I can feed my children first. The Appetizers came right in time but they were overly spiced up while I requested Mild for everything except bhuna gosht. My kids were not able to eat any of the appetizers, and lassi still was not given. The mains took almost 25 mins to arrive while I was still waiting for lassi. Then after waiting too long I called a server and asked if I could please get the lassi, so then lassi came after 30 mins. After a total of one hour been in the restaurant the mains came with butter chicken as only item that was mild, bhuna gosht was as expected but the Nalli rogan was not cooked properly, the naan and tandoori roti were a nightmare. I could barely rip the naan and tandoori rotis were burnt. I did not eat the breads and neither did anyone from my family. Most of the food was just left as it is because of poor quality, and no one came back to ask if food is ok or if I needed anything else. But three times servers came to me and asked if I needed a box, which I said yes, but none of them came back with box, until finally the host came to ask if we needed something else as it was getting busy and I said YES, few boxes. So I finally got the box after ~15 mins of wait. I packed my things but then nobody came to provide me the check, I just walked over to host and told her can you please provide me the total so I can pay and go.
Overall, the quality of food has gone to worst, quality of service is also worst, and ambiance of the restaurant was poor as well. I would definitely not be coming back to this place or recommend anyone even trying it out. The name might sound like it must be good food as it is by Chef Sanjeev Kapoor, but you WILL be disappointed. AVOID THIS RESTAURANT, especially if you...
Read moreOn Thursday morning, I called them in advance to reserve a table for Friday (next day) 7:30 PM. Also, requested on call for booth seats since it was a friend's birthday and was confirmed by the person on call that I will get booth seats for the birthday party.
Reached on Friday to this place and was not greeted by anyone. Suddenly a young lady, TANYA, barges in pushing the other lady and asks me rudely do I have a reservation and I said yes for 2. She checked my name and said okay we don't have any seats available so you can sit on the bar. I said that I actually requested for booth seats and I can wait for something to be vacant. She rudely replied, and to quote her, "we have 50,000 reservations for tonight so I can't give you any special preference. You can either take the bar seat or I have a 1 person table which is not a booth so you can manage there or you can leave." I got frustrated at her rolling eyes when she asked us to leave but didn't want to spoil friend's birthday and said, hey let's talk politely and maybe I can wait for a booth to be ready because even I have a reservation amongst those, "50,000" reservations you have for the day. She rolled her eyes and said "Either take the bar seat or you can just leave, I anyway don't care. Don't waste my time." This young lady, named TANYA, rolled her eyes, again đ. I requested her to call her manager and she said, "Manager is not here so you can just leave. Don't waste my time." And she walked off. I asked another server at the counter to request for manager so she took out her phone and messaged the supervisor who came in and heard us and asked us to wait for seats. He said he is trying to manage something. I asked him that I don't want to eat here anymore but just want to leave this feedback that to run this place, you need to offer good service. He didn't acknowledge any rude behavior or any action to be taken for this lady, named "TANYA". He just kept on saying that he is arranging for seats.
Horrible customer rep and horrible place. Putting her name is all caps everytime to let the management know about excellent customer rep...
Read moreWe grew up watching Sanjeev Kapoor on television and were really excited to see his restaurant open in the Bay Area. After finally being able to visit, have to admit that this was a huge disappointment.
The service is just absolutely garbage. The wait staff was completely untrained and unprofessional. The manager was in damage control mode all evening as his staff was failing to deliver on orders across multiple tables. I am a bit fussier so was able to get their attention, but the polite table next to me suffered in silence for much longer. The managers excuse was that the pandemic had left them short staffed, which then begs the question; why did they decide to reopen such a large venue at full capacity?
The food was good, better than the no-name Indian restaurant around the corner for the most part (though there are exceptions to that rule!). However, the experience and price was not worth putting money into what is clearly a money-milking franchise for this star chef.
Skip this place and support some other local chef who is emotionally vested in their enterprise; even if you have to choose a different cuisine.
(List of things that went wrong: Took 45 minutes to bring our order out, AFTER fussing) Waiter spilled water on our wrought iron table, so some of it drained through to feet of one of guests. He then laughed about and walked away. Thatâs it. No apologies, no come back to clean, no extra napkins. Nothing. Brought the wrong order to our table and set it all down. When we pointed it out, they took it straight to the other table without any concern for hygiene (and they use the pandemic as an excuse for their poor showing? When we were voicing our complaints to the assistant manager on duty, she straight up argued with me saying itâs not her fault and what do I expect her to do about it (sign that itâs âeveryone for themselvesâbehind the scenes, not a winning recipe for restaurants) Wait staff has no idea about the dishes theyâre serving. If you were hoping to get some feedback before ordering, youâre SOL. The paani puri cocktail is...
