Santa Clarita is a burgeoning pizza town...we're not there yet...our Neapolitan options are good, but available NYC style slices are hard to come by up here which leads you to the vast amount of "regular" pizza we have up here. It does the job. It's fine. So finding a decent place to get just a regular pie with a decent enough mix of sauce and cheese, with a crust that's at least not embarrassing, is just about the best we can hope for. With that in mind we tried Di Marco's Newhall...most pizza places don't put enough sauce on their pies so we ordered a cheese pie and selected extra sauce. What we got was a cheese pie with no sauce at all. Literally zero sauce. Crust and bread.
People make mistakes, we get it, and we got some of our money back, but this was our first time trying Di Marco's...no sauce at all is literally the opposite of "extra sauce." There are puh-lenty of "regular" pizza places up here...if we're going to get a basic pie that's not going to wow us...at least the order could be correct and not missing one of the three essential ingredients of a cheese pizza.
Bottom of the list Di Marco's...on to...
Read moreOrdered a calzone online with peppers, mushroom, and Canadian bacon. When I got it the top crust wasn't scored so it was pretty much completely closed. About 1/4-1/3 into it I realized it was actually sausage, pepperoni, and ham. Called to explain this wasn't what I ordered but they wanted the full calzone back to replace it. I explained I didn't immediately realize and they weren't really willing to work with me. I was offering to bring my receipt after work with what was left or pictures of the inner ingredients. Apparently they don't do full replacements when they make mistakes, they're only willing to give you a discount.
They have another location on McBean & Newhall Ranch, and this location has honored wrong orders with full replacement, even on a different day if needed (we went back a week later and they still honored it). The food here is good, don't get me wrong, but I'm not a fan of somewhere messing up your order and not making it right. Food is good. Customer service needs work, especially when it's...
Read moreWe're from out of town. Had to go to the Dollar Tree and we were starving. Pizza di Marco was in the same shopping center. We went there reluctantly...its definitely not a fancy place. But when the food came, it was great! And there was so much of it that we took half back to our hotel and ate it 2 nights later. It was still wonderful. We had the eggplant parmesan and garlic shrimp linguine. The dinner salad was huge as well, and very good. And there was plenty of fresh, toasted garlic bread. We will definitely go there or order from there whenever we come back to the Santa Clarita area. (They don't serve alcohol, so we enjoyed the leftovers with some wine in our hotel room.) Can't wait to try some of the other choices on the menu. Highly recommend...
