Iāve been a loyal customer of dinks for the last 15 years, and after my experience today, that will no longer be the case. I walked in at 3:38pm. There were chairs stacked in front of the door, making it dangerous to walk in, also making us believe they were closed. An employee was sweeping the floor, we asked if they were closed and he said āalmostā, then, we asked if they had any bagels left and he told us to go look in the case. It was dismissive and rude. When we ordered our bagel, the employee was condescending, visibly annoyed, and clearly upset we were ordering food so close to closing time. We got our total & my dad asked to have the price broken down. The employee rudely pointed to the menu and said āthe price is right thereā when we finished eating, we said thank you on our way out & the employee was so rude in his sarcastic response of āno problemā. Iāve worked in food service before, and understand that itās annoying when customers come in just before closing time, but this employeeās blatant disdain made us feel awful. If Iām spending $15 on one bagel with lox, Iād at least not like to feel like a burden on the employees. Iād also like to add, stacking chairs in front of the door is not just a deterrent for potential customers, itās a major safety hazard. Iād give 0 stars...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAfter my experience there the other day, I do NOT plan on ever going back to Dinkās again - except for an occasional cookie! I simply ordered a bagel with salmon cream cheese on it. They toasted it (which I didnāt want), put some cream cheese on it, put the two halves together and handed it to me in a little bag.
First of all, I paid $2 extra for what turned out to be just two pieces of salmon (smaller than my pinky nail) on a very small amount (nowhere near a āshmeerā) of cream cheese. Second problem: cream cheese on a HOT bagel turns to the consistency of sour cream (which it did, and dribbled all over the place!). Thirdly: the two HOT halves with dripping cream cheese was a mess to separate. When I called to speak with the manager, I was never asked what it was about (or even my name). She just said that he wasnāt in and took my phone number. ** Iām in no hurry to even go back...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI ordered the peanut butter cookie. It fell apart and turned to crumbs as soon as we opened the package. The cookie had no taste. It was horrible! I wasn't upset at all, but my eight year-old nephew was. I told him we would exchange it for another cookie. I brought the cookie and told them we didn't like it. I politely asked if we could try another cookie Instead. The worker said absolutely not, and I would have to pay for another one. I asked to speak to a manager, but they told me no manager was at the shop. How do you run a business with no one at the shop to make decisions? It was a cookie! How do you leave a customer so angry over a cookie? I feel a manager would've fixed the situation. I left and went to CVS to buy the kids a treat, because obviously this bakery doesnāt...
