After a recent remodel I decided to visit this place again, because it looks inviting from the outside. But as soon as you walk in, the feeling is that this is still a tired restaurant that is trying a makeover but is visually failing and not appealing. The chairs and tables are shabby, the counter is cluttered with toys (whatever those are for because there are no price tags on them?) and the equipment looks old and outdated.
I ordered the cheeseburger combo meal and got a bill for $9.70. It took quite a long time (too long in my opinion) to get the food ready and unfortunately the burger was done before the fries came out of the fryer, which means my burger was nearly cold from sitting, while the fries were still boiling hot. But, while the fries were crispy on the outside, many of them were starchy and slightly undercooked inside, tasting like half-raw potato. Seasoning on the fries was ok. slightly too much salt for my taste. The burger itself was loaded with bacon, tomato, lettuce and a good size meat patty and it would have been a great burger, had it...
Read moreI ordered a lettuce wrapped cheese burger and fries. The food was delicious. However, i came across one major problem - they charge you more at the cash register than the menu listed prices.
For example, the bacon burger itself is listed on the paper menu at $5.85. After i paid and looked at my receipt, I was charged $6.55 plus an additional $1.33 for a slice of cheese. Wow! That's crazy!
I went back to the cashier and noted the difference between what i was charged and what the listed price was for the burger- ultimately, they returned back to me $0.85.
The $0.85 they gave back to me did not include the over-priced slice of cheese.
In the end, i chose not to spend more of my precious lunch-time auditing them on what i had actually paid and that which they should have appropriately charged me.
My advice to this burger place - update your menu prices so that your customers don't feel like you're unnecessarily...
Read moreBurger oliBella is a small burger joint in the middle of Santa Fe Springs. I'm not sure if oliBella was a pun for oily, but I thought it was a funny name. For those who don't know the area, it is a heavily industrialized location with plenty of warehouses littered across the landscape.
Their menu ranges from burgers to teriyaki bowls! They offer a variety of different burger styles, and also have breakfast options, of which include tacos, burritos and huevos!
The burger was no where near appealing, the bun was mushed up, and it was sloppily put together. As long as you aren't eating with your eyes, it was a decent burger! The lettuce had hidden onions that gave the burger a bit of a kick. The fries were also quite average. Some were mushy, and some were crispy! It was a nice bag of surprises!
It's a decent burger joint if you're looking for some fast food, I was...
