I've been shopping at this Target for a couple of years now since it's less than 2 miles from my house but I think I won't be returning again. It is not the best Target in the world but for the most part it's decent...generally clean and the associates for the most part are friendly and helpful. The reason for the low stars is their newfound policy on the beauty items. I purchase my regular Nuetrogena face moisturizer from Target. A few months ago I came in to purchase it only to find it in a locked cabinet where you have to call for assistance. Fine, the associate comes in less than a minute. The woman explained to me that it was locked in a cabinet because people were stealing. Fine, I get it. But today I come in and same thing but I can't even read to see which product I want because of the locks...anyway the associate comes, make my selection only to be told that if I'm not done shopping she has to take my product to guest services and when I'm checking out, I can tell the cashier to go get it. I'm sorry but the lines here are long enough as it is without an additional delay for myself and the other guests that may be waiting behind me. And my experiences with guest services finding things here has not been great. Needless to say, I did not waste my time purchasing the moisturizer or the items in my cart today. Note to the manager - Inconveniencing paying customers for the few items that have been stolen doesn't seem like a good way to keep your paying customers satisfied. Thank goodness Target is everywhere and I can find another location nearby.
This is why Amazon is dominating the market slowly...

I had the pleasure of visiting Target last night, and I must share my exceptional customer service experience. As I am in the process of moving from Whittier, I was on the lookout for free boxes to assist with my move.
Upon arriving at Target, I headed to the returns and pickup section. There, I met a gentleman named "Steve" who completely impressed me with his demeanor and willingness to assist. When I inquired about the availability of free boxes, he immediately sprang into action. Despite having no direct responsibility towards my query, he generously offered to help. He asked me to wait for five minutes and proceeded to a distant part of the store.
To my surprise and delight, he returned after a short while with three boxes. I was truly touched by his willingness to go the extra mile, even though I was NOT a customer. Steve's actions made a significant impact on my experience at Target, and I am genuinely grateful for his exceptional service. Target should consider themselves fortunate to have such an amazing employee who embodies the spirit of outstanding...
Read moreI lead a non-profit organization and I went into the Santa Fe Springs Target. This is my go to store for convenience. This particular time, I was purchasing closed to $2K worth of gift cards for an event. The purchase was being made with a corporate card that matched my ID and yet, I was judged and treated like a criminal by an employee telling the cashier to only give me 4 gift cards, and telling me I could only purchase those, and to go to other stores.
I took my business to Walgreens, and the very professional employees kindly explained their policy on gift cards, and why the policy has been placed for the protection of the store and the consumers. After this, they proceeded to help me with the rest of my purchase.
What a difference in treatment and way of explaining an understandable policy to a customer!
Employees should be coached and trained to treat everyone with kindness and respect. This Target location has lost...
