This is a seasonal restaurant open when crawfish are available. Alcohol is not served, but customers are welcome to bring their own and a local liquor store will deliver to this restaurant for $10. Plastic cups are available for those bringing their own alcohol. Outside soft drinks and food are not permitted. Air conditioned indoor seating and shaded outdoor seating are available. Outside seating can be quite dusty, as gravel parking areas surround the restaurant.

Dine-in menu is on-line now, with a barcode at each table to be scanned with your smart phone

No green food is served here.

Everything we tasted had no apparent seasoning, but melted butter, tartar sauce, cocktail sauce and seasoned salt are available. Crawdads are sold by the pound, but very little of each can eaten, so one person can easily eat several pounds.

The boiled crawfish and shrimp were thoroughly cooked. The fried items, including Boudin Balls (like 1 inch, rice based croquettes), hush puppies, shrimp, and catfish where all most with dry, crisp exteriors. The French fries were limp and heavy.

My wife asked our server how she ate crawfish and our server cheerfully dismantled one for her, talking my wife through the process. Service was quick, cheerful, and...

I had really high hopes for this place considering all of the reviews it has. The hostess was rude and let a group of 5 go ahead of us even though we were there 20 minutes before them and she got an attitude and said is your whole party here? I said yes 2 are in their car and she was like well they have to be here. I said how were we supposed to know you wouldn’t seat us until the whole party’s here right in front of you?? And she kind of smirked and said you just should have known or said something. I was already irritated at this point because of poor communication on the girls end but still tried to remain positive. Okay let’s get down to the crawfish- I know it’s still early in the season but boy these crawfish were small. We were told there’s only 1 spice level and it literally tasted like a few pounds of salt and that was it. 0 Cajun spice, 0 heat. Then we tried a crab cluster. It was pretty bad as well. 0 flavor. Tasted fishy due to no flavor. Their seasoning that’s on the table tasted like mainly salt as well. I hate that we drove 40 minutes to this place just for it to be pretty bad. Maybe it was a bad night, I don’t know, but I do know I probably won’t be going back...

Ive never eaten here, but deliver food from here through door dash is almoat unbearable. 9 times out of 10 I'm not greeted by up to 10 employees. I eventually learned I have to just find someone and express that im here for a pickup. They ask the name, i give the name for the pickup, and this is my experience, every single time: "it'll be right out." This answer means 25-60 minute wait. My average wait time any time of the day for any size order is 35-80 minutes from when i arrive (typically 15 minutes after I recieve the order i arrive depending on where I was in town before the order) SUMMARY: If you door dash and you want to wait up to 80 minutes for a 1 person order while being ignored devalued and disrespected, accept a delivery to pooks. You have a 100% chance of feeling like a 3rd rate citizen when you leave, regardless of combat duty in...

Went here due to word of mouth. Crawfish were huge, probably the biggest I've seen all year. They give you real butter, I would say it's seasoned like most places in Texas but not a whole lot of flavor. Sausage was good, corn was bland. If you eat enough crawfish, you'll get some spice but not spicy. The price was $35 for 5 lbs which I think it's the best I've seen yet this year. The downfall was that they don't serve beer, but it is a BYOB place which I've never seen before so I guess you bring your own. Service was outstand the server came up to us tons of times. The place is clean, A/C was blowing cold to the point that it was a bit chilly. They also have an outdoor area to eat at. It's not a bad place, just wasn't my vibe and the flavor wasn't flavorful compared to places I usually go to.

Went in today 4/19/23 around 420 pm. Ordered 5lbs they were at the table in 2 minutes which made me uneasy. Easy to figure out how the were at the table so fast, they had been cooked prior and stored in a warmer. They had been on the warmer to long, they were hard to peel because the shells were to soft and just tearing apart. The meat was spongy and rubbery. I called at 730 pm to speak to a manger which explained that they drop the first sack in the warmer at 4pm sharp and then serve from the warmer. They also were not purged properly so the had a gritty taste...tried to talk with the manager but she defended the policy. I have been eating there for years...want be back! LOOKS are DECEIVING!
