Everything we tasted had no apparent seasoning, but melted butter, tartar sauce, cocktail sauce and seasoned salt are available. Crawdads are sold by the pound, but very little of each can eaten, so one person can easily eat several pounds.
The boiled crawfish and shrimp were thoroughly cooked. The fried items, including Boudin Balls (like 1 inch, rice based croquettes), hush puppies, shrimp, and catfish where all most with dry, crisp exteriors. The French fries were limp and heavy.
My wife asked our server how she ate crawfish and our server cheerfully dismantled one for her, talking my wife through the process. Service was quick, cheerful, and...
Read moreI had really high hopes for this place considering all of the reviews it has. The hostess was rude and let a group of 5 go ahead of us even though we were there 20 minutes before them and she got an attitude and said is your whole party here? I said yes 2 are in their car and she was like well they have to be here. I said how were we supposed to know you wouldn’t seat us until the whole party’s here right in front of you?? And she kind of smirked and said you just should have known or said something. I was already irritated at this point because of poor communication on the girls end but still tried to remain positive. Okay let’s get down to the crawfish- I know it’s still early in the season but boy these crawfish were small. We were told there’s only 1 spice level and it literally tasted like a few pounds of salt and that was it. 0 Cajun spice, 0 heat. Then we tried a crab cluster. It was pretty bad as well. 0 flavor. Tasted fishy due to no flavor. Their seasoning that’s on the table tasted like mainly salt as well. I hate that we drove 40 minutes to this place just for it to be pretty bad. Maybe it was a bad night, I don’t know, but I do know I probably won’t be going back...
Read moreIve never eaten here, but deliver food from here through door dash is almoat unbearable. 9 times out of 10 I'm not greeted by up to 10 employees. I eventually learned I have to just find someone and express that im here for a pickup. They ask the name, i give the name for the pickup, and this is my experience, every single time: "it'll be right out." This answer means 25-60 minute wait. My average wait time any time of the day for any size order is 35-80 minutes from when i arrive (typically 15 minutes after I recieve the order i arrive depending on where I was in town before the order) SUMMARY: If you door dash and you want to wait up to 80 minutes for a 1 person order while being ignored devalued and disrespected, accept a delivery to pooks. You have a 100% chance of feeling like a 3rd rate citizen when you leave, regardless of combat duty in...
