Cold Stone Creamery — Restaurant in Santa Monica

If I could give no stars I would, the employee who helped me was an older man. Who was very rude, perhaps it was the language barrier. But he was speaking in a manner that made it seem like he was calling me stupid. I told him several times I wanted to put my own toppings but some how there was miscommunication. He pointed at an image and asked me if I wanted it like that. But I didn't understand what he meant. I was assuming he meant the cone, but then i told him I don't understand. His stare made me fell unbelievably stupid. He repeated himself and I told him yes I want toppings that's what I assumed he meant. He then began putting toppings like the picture but that wasn't what I wanted. I than explained that I wanted to chose MY own toppings and that is what I was telling him from the beginning. Overrated & Overpriced, staff unhelpful and deceiving. Wasn't able to go into the store due to Covid restrictions, there was a menu without prices and the only price list the staff offered to show me was on a board far back in the store which was not visible, when asking about the prices the member of staff acted like I was inconveniencing them by asking. The staff provided a very complicated pricing structure for the products which was not easy to understand without physically seeing it on a menu. I had enough of the complication and ordered the 2 most basic small sized ice creams I could see. The waffle cones where not fresh at all, they had become soft and chewy unlike Salt & Straw who always have fresh cones. The total cost was $26, which is outright outrageous. I was ashamed to have spent that on ice cream. The deceitful way this store operates regarding pricing is...

WARNING: OWNER IS A PRICE GOUGER...PRICES ARE 40 PERCENT HIGHER THAN OTHER COLD STONE LOCATIONS!!

We purchased two ice cream faves and was charged $36! I called the store to ask management why their pricing is so much higher than other locations and was told they can charge whatever they want and it's legal. SO THERE YOU HAVE IT...CHOOSE WISELY!

The Pico location is cheaper and the staff is friendlier. The arrogance and costs at the Santa Monica location is too expensive for our ice cream taste buds.
