Willi’s Wine Bar — Restaurant in Santa Rosa

Can’t comment on the food as I didn’t stay long enough to be served. I literally received no service for over 20 minutes. I had come to enjoy the gifts of today’s sunshine and beauty. But also to celebrate the beauty of the human spirit of kindness. Well I can say without a doubt, A unequivocally and wholeheartedly that I was not the recipient of service? Any attention or kindness at this restaurant. The hostess a wonderful young lady felt sorry for me so you offered me service. My server literally did not acknowledge. can say with certainty this is not a restaurant I will ever visit again. Let me explain , I always wonder when I see one review vastly different from the others, I wonder why. I’m the only person of color in the restaurant. I thought of not mentioning the ethnicity/ because I didn’t want to put in that realm but rather the spirit of people being kind to other people. Someone I’ve said - I may get the order incorrect- I’m accountable to your, I’m responsible for you and dependent on you m- because we are all connected. So posted not seeking a punitive response but a human response to do better🥹.

so I’m sitting here and I’m looking at my server and I realize she is up in age - super busy and I wanna in the spirit of positive intent, making no assumptions and not taking it personal. Keeping in mind my server likely had no ill intent- and to practice - the art of assuming positive intent. I decided to stay and the service has great improved- augmenting one more time -stay away.

My wife and my daughter went to Willie’s for lunch. We used to come here all the time and never anymore after our horrible experience with the management. We blame it on the owner, and management, simply this is what they want you to experience. The owner called me about our experience and was completely happy about that the menu has a tremendous amount of items that they don’t have! We even tried to order water, bottled water and they said no we have it but it’s not cold and we prefer you to drink tapwater because it’s filtered, WHAT A JOKE!!! When talking to the OWNER he thought this was perfectly fine, I thought Willie’s was a fine dining restaurant, it’s turned into a woke restaurant that the servers act like they’re working at Disneyland! This place has gone downhill immensely, it was lunchtime and there was only one other table to fill the restaurant, completely empty and now I know why. When the owner of the restaurant doesn’t care anymore for hospitality and quality food, you know you have a problem. Even when we left, ALL of our to go food was turned upside down in the leftover boxes, our potstickers were stuck with another dish, because this is what the owner wants. I finally visited the “new” location of Willi’s Wine Bar. It is nestled in a older strip mall in Santa Rosa. They have 2 outdoor patios. One as you enter the restaurant (where we sat) and one along the side of the restaurant. We ordered small plates and wine (of course). I ordered the “I love Sonoma” flight. My partner ordered a glass of Medoc. (Blend of red). The wine was excellent. The entire experience was phenomenal. We were there on a warm day and the patio was shaded so it felt perfect (temp wise). We ordered roasted beets, one hunk of cheese, fava bean bruschetta, truffle fries, sirloin sliders and a lemon Meyer cake with a white dessert wine. Everything was simply delicious! The fava bean bruschetta really stood out because it was creamy with a touch of lemon and a dollop of burratta. WOW. Melt in your mouth goodness. Finally the service was fantastic. We asked for the sirloin sliders/fries to come out later and it did and we got to savor everything. I would definitely put this in a celebration category (price wise) …Except we didn’t have a specific celebration in mind (summer solstice?)
