Urban Garden — Local services in Santa Rosa

I've always loved locally owned stores. Maybe I'm just being a Grinch now, but this store is filled with expensive-ish items no one needs. After 9 months of lockdown, I ventured into this local gardening/gift store to find a gazing ball for my daughter's new garden. None. Instead I was appalled at the vast numbers of cutesy tchotchkes, all made in China. I don't want to buy or receive useless gifts any more. Life is short and fragile. No more buying just to buy! Retail stores are going out of business left, right, & center. If they can't stock something of value, they no longer have a reason to exist. OK. This is the season. They had lots of holiday "ornaments." But nine months into this world-changing disaster has helped me see with different eyes. I looked closely at those ornaments. Lots of white Santas, white angels, white ballerinas. Nothing that looked like any person of color. ? Also no holiday items for Hanukkah. ? I don't know if my values have changed... or firmed. But this didn't feel right to me. I won't go back to this store. ...

A store filled with a variety of plants, and little garden lights, candles and comfortable furniture to arrange on your patio. There are gardening hats, gloves, tools, beautiful teak bowls and cutting boards, and many different books on how to take care of all sorts of plants. The ambiance is soothing and you will definitely be able to find gift items for friends and for yourself as well! So make a date to go to Urban Garden as soon as you can! You won't be disappointed, and maybe will leave with a potted...

This is a small shop without a huge amount of inventory, but I just love it. They almost always have something interesting and new to look at. I have things from this shop all over my home and garden.

They have flameless candles, fairy world items, soaps, lotions, statues, kitchen items, Swell products, very pretty pottery, air plants, art work, garden items, lanterns and a variety of other treasures.
