The Lopez restaurant cartel has spent a few bucks on remodeling and furnishings at their new Sapulpa location. Nicely done, attractive and comfortable. I hope upgrades included a new AC. It seemed a little warm in there, but that was after I had downed half a bowl of their salsa picante. Today was a test for any air conditioner. It is nice to see that some of the better small town Mexican restaurants are cleaning and remodeling the buildings versus just setting up shop in a dumpy dive. With hundreds of Mexican restaurants now competing for your peso, I think you will see some of the losers disappear. At 2:30 today, the restaurant had a good number of patrons. Sapulpa needed a new Mexican restaurant. I have dined at 5 of their other Lopez restaurants (Muskogee and Wagoner). All are fairly consistent in food and service. Lopez Grills are good solid OkieMex restaurants. The Sapulpa restaurant was good, as I expected, and possibly the best of their outlets. The regular salsa is very mild and very lightly seasoned, but the salsa picante is fire, and essential. Well spiced ground beef filled the taco and the enchiladas. Good queso, beans and rice. Add friendly attentive service to round out the enjoyable lunch experience.

Read moreJust left there very unsatisfied with the food and poor service. I'm not one to complain. Given the terrible experience it's imperative I do. Our food was cold and old! We ordered double Jalisco fajitas that were not hot and sizzling. They were cold and burnt! They brought us 2 tortillas only. I had to get up and get my own limes after waiting 20min and politely asking 4 times! My water tasted like it had chemicals in it! Our waiter was rude and ignored us majority of the time. Our chips were old and not even whole tortilla chips they were crushed and stale!!! I'm very disappointed given it was my fiance and my date night and I have always enjoyed this restaurant and think highly of it until tonight!! I asked for charro beans got refried beans and when I asked my waiter to kindly correct it he snatched my plate off the table and said I'll charge you for a side of charro beans then! Which money obviously was not the issue. I asked for a manager and 2 different waiters said they didn't know what I was asking about! Finally got the managers name from a 3rd waiter in passing as we were leaving. We paid and I still tipped because that's the nature of my heart. Very...
Read moreNice new restaurant (July 2023), well appointed and clean. Obviously these guys are not novices. We ordered #7 on Vegetarian menu- mushroom quesadilla - and it was really tasty...toasted tortilla filled with sauteed mushrooms and white cheese. It came with shredded lettuce, 2 tablespoons each guacamole, sour cream and pico, plus Mexican rice and refried beans. The rice has a little tomato in it and beans needed salt. (First time I've ever said that about anything in a Tex-Mex restaurant.) We also had a mixed fajita plate with beef and chicken. The grill had tomatoes, as well as the usual peppers and onions - unusual but well seasoned. Lots of accompaniments including flour tortillas, guacamole ensalada, rice, beans, pico and sour cream. Good iced tea. Excellent service. Nice atmosphere. We liked the salsa. Chips were thick but warm. Arrived at 11:30 for lunch and when we left the parking lot was full. I...
