July 15, 2023, I recently had an extremely disappointing experience at J Rodgers BBQ in Saraland. Despite their advertised closing time of 5 PM on Saturdays, I arrived at 4:36 PM to place a to-go order, only to be rudely informed that the kitchen had already closed at 4:30 PM, just 6 minutes after my arrival. As a customer who respects business hours, I was shocked and appalled by their lack of consideration and unhelpful attitude.

While I understand the importance of adhering to closing times, I believe that the staff member, a female, could have handled the situation with more tact and professionalism. Instead of dismissing my request outright, she could have taken a moment to check if any other food options were available, given that I was only minutes late. A little empathy and understanding go a long way in fostering a positive customer experience.

The dismissive response of "well it's closed" left a very sour taste in my mouth. As a result, I have decided not to patronize J Rodgers BBQ ever again. This kind of customer service is simply unacceptable, and it's evident that they do not value their customers.

I had been a loyal customer of J Rodgers BBQ, but after this incident, they have lost me permanently. As a consumer, I expect to be treated with respect and courtesy, especially when I am trying to support a local business.

In conclusion, I cannot recommend J Rodgers BBQ in Saraland due to their unaccommodating attitude, lack of empathy, and premature kitchen closure. I encourage potential customers to be wary of their commitment to customer service and adherence to posted business hours. There are plenty of other establishments in the area that value their customers and provide a better overall experience.
