People should read a full complement of reviews about this place before considering patronizing the business. The experience I had talking to the manager today is consistent with other "one star" reviews I'm reading. I called ahead to order food to go. After giving my order for a lunch entree and a soda, I told him that I had a coupon for an identical entree at no additional charge (from a fund-raising book the school kids are selling). He told me (in a very curt and "put out" manner) that the offer was for dine-in only, and hung up on me before I could inquire further. Other coupons in this book state "dine in only", but the majority do not, and this restaurant's coupon does not. Other information from the coupon is also misleading. If the purpose of being in the coupon book is to advertise the business/introduce more customers to the restaurant/gain a wider following, I hope they learn that treating people rudely is not going to accomplish the objective. We ate at the restaurant several years ago, and were disappointed that the closest Mexican restaurant to us didn't taste good. This coupon was a reason to give it another, more recent re-consideration. I will not make that mistake again.
[ A side note - this week the Covid death rate in Alabama was the highest reported of the pandemic, the highest of any state, and 50% higher than the state that was second (Florida). Trying to force dining-in right now seems...
Read moreThe restaurant itself was grungy and had very poor atmosphere. Almost felt like a dive bar. Bathrooms were awful as expected. When we walked in my bf said it smelled more like Chinese food than Mexican. We had a coupon from our fundraiser book that gave you a free entree up to $6.50, but nothing on the menu was under $7... Not that big of a deal but I did ask the waitress who suggested I use it to buy a kids entree for $4.. WOW. Food was ok. But I absolutely hated this restaurant. Mexican is my favorite but I was absolutely disappointed in this place. Would never go there again or reccoment it to anyone. I wish they would rebuild the el giro on government. It was the best! I would recommend the los conzuelas down the street from los 3 amigo however. Much better food and restaurant. Also it seemed as though all the wait staff had family dining so I wouldn't trust the positive reviews for...
Read moreMy wife and I were traveling from WA state to FL. We decided to stop in, this being a restaurant from my childhood memories. Obviously, owners have changed since that time. HOWEVER, this is hands down, in the top 5 best Hispanic Restaurants I have ever been in. Ranging from both coasts, north and south. Restaurant has a unique and distinguished appearance. Very welcoming and relaxing environment. Our server, Alicia, was very attentive and polite. Being in the restaurant business in the Pacific Northwest, I expect top customer service. You will most assuredly receive it here. Drinks remained filled and she consistently checking to ensure our satisfaction without hovering. Alcoholic beverages are flavorful while still giving you the kick in the shorts. I find myself to be an extremely picky eater, I have one complaint with the food here....eating the last bite. Highly recommend. Worth the slight...
