I went in the store yesterday (9/18/25) around 6pm to get help filing an insurance claim on my tablet. As soon as I told “Steph” what I needed, she said “The insurance claim is gonna cost more than the tablet. The tablet was $20 the claim will cost you $100.” She suggested that I just buy another one for $79 (plus tax). I waited until she was done helping another customer ahead of me. About 3 more customers walked in… “Steph” finished helping the man ahead of me and then asked me to come to the counter. Once we got into my account, she said “you can get the other tablet tonight, but if you do that you won’t be able to cancel your first one for 24 hours or it will cancel both tablets.” Then, she proceeded to tell me that I would be charged for 2 tablet lines on my next bill if I buy another one without first canceling the broken one (which doesn’t make sense bc I’m not adding a line, just want to swap the tablets). She told me I had to cancel the tablet line and wait 24 hrs to come back and buy another. I left and called customer service line where they promptly sent me a link to get started with my claim. It took me maybe 5 min online to file a claim and ONLY COST ME $60. I feel that she was trying to gain a sale for commission, pocket my money, or simply rush me out the door bc of all the customers coming in the store (they close at 7p). I don't know if they pocketed the money or not but that was wrong. When I told them I was going to call customer service they acted like the customer service couldn't do anything for me.
