The Saraland Sonic used to be great, but the last several times we have been there have been absolutely awful. Every time we went, they made us wait forever to order, in both the drive thru and at the stalls. We could see and hear the employees inside joking around and laughing while we waited each time. When we finally did get to order, they were out of EVERYTHING. They have been out of ice cream the past 3 times we have went! It wasn’t even late when we were there either, we’ve been during lunch, dinner, and later in the evening: Out of ice cream, every single time.
They were also out of several types of food and only had a small selection of items we could order all three times. I can understand this happening once or twice, but for this to happen to us 3 times in a row? That is ridiculous and unacceptable. Especially when we don’t even go there very often. Plus, the food we did end up getting each time was disgusting and tasted like it had been sitting out all day.
We even tried getting a refund for one of the trips because the food was so bad and none of our order was right, but they said we had to contact corporate to get it. We reached out to corporate, but the amount of hoops they want you to jump through to get said refund was almost impossible, so we finally gave up.
We were foolish enough to try the Sonic in Saraland again the other day, hoping they had gotten better, but yet again it was the same exact issue as the last 3 times we had went. We waited ten minutes to order (which I guess should have been a sign that we shouldn’t have even tried), then when we finally ordered and got to the drive thru window, we waited another five minutes for them to speak with us (all while the employees inside were talking and laughing loudly). Once the girl finally opened the window, she tells us that they’re out of ice cream and can’t make any of the things we ordered. So we wasted 15 minutes only to be disappointed and have to get food elsewhere.
Needless to say we will not be going back to this Sonic again unless we hear that they are under new management, because whoever is running this place right now obviously doesn’t care about making their customers happy or even serving their customers, since you can’t get any food that you want...

However, with that being said, we have a problem.!! I’m here on the drive-through line on a Saturday night waiting 40 minutes and two of your girls are outside talking to some dude in a pick up truck. They Bring him food and then they leave together back in the sonic and come back and bring him more food. It is really weird that you have to have two people to bring one persons food. There weren’t that many people in the drive-in nor the drive-through to take 40minutes to get food something is not right and maybe you guys need to hire more people! I didn’t have to wait this long in line when it was Covid season!!!! And if you don’t believe me, you can look at your cameras!!! I even looked at my clock to make sure that it was 40 minutes and it was!!!!!! if your service is like this every Saturday you’re gonna lose revenue and you’re going to lose business!!! You even have people driving off the line because is too long and it’s hardly anyone here!!!! I just don’t get it!!!! Please tighten up!!! And I hope the owner is reading this post because that falls on you!!!! And remember us customers have a choice and I’m about to exercise that right to go somewhere else and tell other folks not to come if you don’t fix it !!!! And what makes me even angriest that you have a young lady playing on her phone while the lines are off the charts!!! Meanwhile, the other young lady is confused and doesn’t know what she’s doing at the drive-through line!!!! The owners read this because your service was absolute garbage!!!! Read moreI want to begin by saying I'm only 24 years old and I've worked in fast food on and off since I was 19 years old. I appreciate those that do work in fast food because it's not easy, and I know first hand what that is like; I've personally worked at this store several years ago. I cannot explain how much I am not a rude person, I'm always nice even when I know I shouldn't be- but I've been treated so horribly at this place I cannot even begin to write into words how frustrated and disappointed I am.
Every single time I have gone up there, I have been forgotten about. I always constantly have to either go through the drive thru to get someones attention or call the store personally. I even place mobile orders in advance for this reason, and still somehow get forgotten within the span of 10 minutes. I've been given melted ice cream simply because no one brought it to me within the time it took them to even make it. I've waited over 20+ minutes just for a single item. I've been given un-blended ice cream with barely any toppings, and just plain vanilla on the bottom. I cannot understand how you could treat someone so horribly as I've been treated. I cannot understand what I've done to even deserve this kind of treatment.
I know this cannot be blamed on every single worker in the store- maybe it is only one, or even a couple that is making these frequent mistakes, or if it's a management issue, I cannot say for sure. All I know is that I am saddened, mad, frustrated. I know I am not the only one that has experienced this, which is the sad part about this whole thing. Nothing is being done about it. Nothing ever will.
