First of all, their food is definitely good. That's why we even show up. But the attitude and service is abysmal at peak hours. I am a vegetarian and my husband eats chicken. So we ordered one vegetarian burrito for me and a chicken burrito for him. They messed up the order and served me chicken burrito and I took a bite ... It is a big deal because I don't eat meat due to religious reasons. Now that's okay... mistakes happen and it could happen to anyone when one waitress is trying to serve a million customers. The problem is their attitude when you point them out the mistake. The arrogance and the sarcasm. They way they reacted saying somehow we are just supposed to know that the one with lettuce is vegetarian burrito. After this we decided to just leave and convert our order to go. The waiter then literally banged our packet on the table without saying a word. I had to go inside again to ask which burrito is which since there was nothing written on the packet to which the lady who served us opened the packages and condescendingly replied that the chicken burrito has chicken peaking out and veggie one has lettuce. Okay write this somewhere then !! A good restaurant behaves much differently when they mess up. Watch your attitude if you want repeat customers. I would not have written this review if they had simply apologized for their mistake. But I am feeling insulted with no fault of mine.
If you choose to go here, don't expect to be...
Read moreSimply incredible this spot La Cueva is a hidden gem in Saratoga, South of West San Jose next to Cupertino. Wow just wow, ignore everyone else that isn't Spanish. I'm sorry I have to say this I'm 20% Spanish grew up in Spanish household traveled to 17x different states, been in San Diego and Los Angeles greater area.
This spot right here in the south bay may just be the best Mexican food for 40 miles around. There are great Mexican restaurants in SF and San Mateo. But wow Saratoga has it with this spot. Loved it. The family staff the small storefront. I loved the wait though it was long and was worth it in every minute. Can't rush good cooks especially when they are busy I mean every minute a new order was being called out. I got in line I was customer 17x orders later. And the 34-minute wait ✌🏾😇😎😊🔥❤️ was fire good food.
I sat down took a bite and just paused for a few minutes because memories of my grandmother came rushing back. Her style n grace n cooking. There was something there in the incredible fresh handmade ingredients and food that just brought back core memories of when I was a kid sitting with my grandmother making handmade tortillas in the kitchen.
Love this spot. Thank you ill be eating here at least once a month...
Read moreFirst time visitor. Customer for life. Was told about this place by my son who has been there once before. It was recommended to them by a friend also. Small place, not much room for seating, in a fairly out of the way place. We were told that if you arrive during rush hour such as lunch and dinner you're not going to find seating. But let me tell you, the food was off the charts. Fantastic! I ordered tacos, and two burritos. Everything was quite tasty, the service was fairly fast as well. I like the fact that you don't have to sit down and wait for a server, that you can go right to the counter and Order and sit down, then they bring you your food. I would recommend having better lighting over the menu, which was behind the counter on the wall. I couldn't see the thing at all, too dark. But they did have a hand menu that I ordered from. I would like to get more than one small dish of chips though. They seem a little skimpy on that and they only allow each customer one dish. Prices were great, especially for freaking California. The meal for us...
