TaoTaoTea — Restaurant in Saratoga

I've never left reviews on Google, nor do I eat/drink out that much, but this place was so good I just had to leave a review! I saw this place often while on my way to my part-time job in the past and decided to go today. I got the Tiger Boba Milk Tea and it was really really goodーthe tapioca pearls are soo soft and chewy, and the tea itself has a lot of flavor and tastes really good too! It was really refreshing for a summer afternoon. Their other drinks seemed so cute and good, so I had a hard time choosing. But I really enjoyed the drink I ordered and would like to come back again🧋In addition the staff were so nice and welcomed me in very kindly and recommended me what drinks to try! The cashier who helped me was very kind to me as well. Overall the drinks are of very good quality and at reasonable prices, and the service is very nice and the shop is so cute; I recommend this place!!! I think I might only want to come to Taotao Tea from now on, I really liked the atmosphere and drinks of this place😌Thank you for the boba!!!

I ordered two drinks and paid extra to upgrade both to the “bear cup.” One of them also had an extra topping of red bean popping boba. While preparing the drinks, I saw the staff handling the inside of the cups with their fingers when applying labels — which is very unhygienic.

There was only one order ahead of mine (also just two drinks), but it still took over 15 minutes for me to get mine. When I finally did, the drink was missing the popping boba. I mentioned it to the teenage-looking staff member, and then another older woman — who seemed to be a supervisor — stepped in with a rude attitude and just asked, “So what do you want?”

They wanted to give me the boba in a separate small container and told me to drink some of the drink first, then pour the boba in myself. I asked if I could have a larger cup so I could mix them properly, and the older woman told me that would cost $1 extra — for a cup?! Not to mention that was caused by their own mistake.

Unpleasant service, questionable hygiene, and very poor handling of a simple order. Definitely not...

It was my first visit there. When I was just about to order using the kiosk, a man who seemed to be the owner told me to pay in cash to avoid the credit charging fee. So I decided to do so and was told to pay the amount of $13.35. What I ordered were 5.95 and 5.75 that was supposed to be 11.70 +tax in total which would never be more than 12.10. So I asked for the receipt and the man told a employee to write 5.95 and 6.35 on the receipt. There is no drink charging more than 6 dollars. He was just trying to rip me off!! He can't have not known the exact price for it. You MUST check how much your order would be when paying in cash. It was such an unpleasant experience ever. I wish I could give 0 star!!

Listen, it doesn't matter you gave me a dollar back afterwards. You gave it back because you noticed that I found out how much the real price for the coffee was. What I meant that you were trying to rip me off was that you told me to pay 6.59 for the drink that only cost 5.75 in the FIRST PLACE when...
