Ceré Tea — Restaurant in Saratoga

Wonderful tea flavors. I have been trying all the tea places within 10 miles of my house and documenting my thoughts, and after 50+ drinks over ~30 locations, this place easily takes the top for both fruit and tea based drinks.

I tried the ceremonial matcha drink with boba at 25% sugar and the rose black tea with pineapple and lychee jelly, also at 25% sugar. As one of the few locations I have tried that utilizes real tea AND does not utilize flavored syrups, lowering the sweetness levels did not dilute the flavor of the teas.

The matcha was much smoother than any matcha I have ever prepared myself and far more flavorful than any I have tried elsewhere, and the rose tea had a wonderfully floral flavor that worked very well with the pineapple puree and the lychee jellies.

I also got to taste the house milk tea, which I usually associate with sightly flavored milk. Here, though, the actual flavor of roasted tea came through very strong, and it was wonderful. It will definitely be the next drink I order...

Absolutely delicious teas, definitely follows traditional brewing practices.

DRINKS 🍵: I tried the Matcha Einspanner. 11/10 from me! The drink is not too sweet and perfectly creamy. It's even served with a little wooden spoon if you want to grab all that extra cream. I also had a sip of the hojicha latte, it's a great nutty flavor and once again not too sweet.

PRICE 💵: Following Bay Area prices, it is a bit expensive, coming out to about $7.30 per drink with no tip.

LOCATION 📍: I thought the inside was much larger but there's just two 4-seater tables inside. We were lucky to be early in the day so the seats were empty. I would imagine that during a peak afternoon tea time you might need to enjoy this to-go.

There's plenty of parking in the plaza and conveniently located right across from Westgate if you'd prefer to get some shopping done while...

Ceré Tea has a diverse menu but is ultimately known for their Einspänners (latte with whipped cream in my opinion). Their service was quick and efficient – my drink came out within 5 minutes. Not the most roomiest store (a few small tables and chairs) but enough for me to study with a friend.

Drink Review (4.25/5): I got the Matcha Einspänner ($7) at 75% sweetness and it consisted of a single shot of matcha with milk and a fluffy and subtly sweet whipped cream. I personally prefer overwhelming matcha flavor and the drink had a decent matcha flavor but not strong enough to my taste. However I would come back to try their other Einspänner flavors (Hojicha and Black Sesame).

To the Cut: if you’re looking for a stronger matcha flavor, Ceré Tea is above-average but there are other places out there. Would recommend to try it once to taste...
