Dairy Queen (Treat) — Restaurant in Sauk Rapids

As a vegan and a mother, I love ice cream almost as much as my kids do haha. Dairy Queen is such a childhood memory of mine, so I was estatic to share the memory with my own children. I was so disappointed when quarantine happened, as I was scared that if I went out my children would get corona. But eventually I decided to face my fears, and go out into the public to get some snacks for my kiddos. As I reached there, I noticed something quite perturbing to me. The music on the radio was some disgusting Christian Rock. As a staunch sometimes athiest, I was very offended by this blatant attack on my beliefs. There was also a sign that says he is risen, with a historically inaccurate blue Jesus. I also was perturbed by a loud teenage boy loudly telling his girlfriend a story. My girlfriend and I enjoyed our Orange Julius drinks, and our kids enjoyed the ice cream, but the experience was significantly lessened by the...

Very Sweet, efficient service, & you can see they enjoy their jobs! This is a great Dairy Queen and always very busy in the summer. We visit every few weeks as a treat for accomplishments and special occasions. Even at the end of March, when we went most recently, there was a line several people long, ready to order ice cream - this place is POPULAR. The service is always fast, though, and the line doesn't take much time. The ice cream is excellent - typical fresh Dairy Queen fare. There is no indoor seating, but there are outdoor picnic tables, ample parking, and restrooms. One important note: this location closes every winter for several months. I am not sure of the exact dates when it closes for the winter season or reopens...
