Hy-Vee Market Grille — Restaurant in Savage

I enjoy Hy-Vee in all its entirety - from the main store to having a Starbucks at the ready to the very friendly staff and of course way awesome food and that includes The Market Grill in-house Restaurant. They are always willing to do substitutes as well as add-ons. The only reason I didn't do a 5 Star rating is simply because at the end of our meal when I was looking for someone to bring me a To-Go bag and cup there was no one to be found ... They had all left the building so to speak. At the same time that I was searching to find someone another lady had come in and waited for someone to help her and she ended up leaving out of frustration at not being seated. I realize servers come and go from the dining area but there should always be someone out on the floor during operating hours .... Especially when you end up losing a customer from lack of service .... But I will return again and again because of the food and the friendly staff ... Just don't...

My Fiancée and I have come here multiple times to order half off sushi on Wednesday and order 1/2 off apps at happy hour after our workouts to have a date night. At first we had great service and food was great no problems. Lately our service has been horrible. Our waitress had super flighty and completely lost and we have to consistantly ask for bread and water refills. I brought my Dad there for father’s day and he ordered French fries instead of chips and he still was served chips by the Manager of the store and the Manager never asked if everything looked okay he just kept walking. He then proceeded to ask for fries when she finally made it over. Another 15-20 min go by and we had to ask a second time and she forgot to grab them as they were then cold. I’m super disappointed with there service because I raved to all my family/friends how great it is and I myself will no longer be spending my wendsdays...

I appreciate supermarkets beginning to incorporate restaurants for the freshness factor. The prices here are more than modest given the portions. (Hint: I can get 2 meals out of them easily)

I love that they recently introduced the impossible burger here. While I'm not vegan, I needed to try what the hype was about. I'm happy to report back that this burger is worth the hype. It actually tastes like MEAT. That's impressive.

Unfortunately, I can't say the same holds true for the pad thai here. It's hard when a restaurant trys to do too much with its menu. The chicken just wasn't right and the proportions of cilantro to chicken to noodles to veggies were off. In their defense, they took it back and made me a new one, which I always appreciate. I don't like doing that because I hate wasting food and don't like affecting the chef.

The staff here is super friendly and were more than accommodating....
