This rescued my Savanah trip. I noticed this on the way out of the airport, saw the insane lines at the ones in the city proper, and decided I'd just try the ice cream at the relatively line-free airport location instead. My only regret is that I only got to try it once during my trip.
I see why people wait in line for the ice cream - it's actually pretty delicious. That said, glad I didn't have to stand in line. I thought that the single/double cups were insanely huge when buying the ice cream, but after finishing my double, my husband and I felt like we didn't have enough and ended up getting a kid size as well.
The butter pecan was surprisingly good - rich and buttery and with just enough toasted pecans. I thought the cookie one that had pecans would be just as good, but I think there aren't enough cookies chunks. There's also Savanah Socialite, which is great if you like chocolate. My surprising favorite read the Sakura though - it actually had a slight tinge of cherry, which I really liked.
I also tried banana, which was disappointingly not fresh tasting enough - the banana flavor tasted a bit chemically, as banana flavored things tend to taste if...
Read moreI always look forward to my trips through Savannah Airport, mainly because I get to indulge in my favorite treat at Leopold’s Ice Cream. The pistachio ice cream is absolutely delightful—creamy, rich, and packed with flavor. While I don't buy it every time, it's always a special treat when I do.
One thing to note is that Leopold’s at Savannah Airport is cashless, so make sure to have your card ready for payment. This might be inconvenient for some, but the quick service and ease of transactions more than make up for it.
The selection of ice cream here is impressive. There are definitely more than ten flavors to choose from, catering to a variety of tastes. My husband is a huge fan of their cookie ice cream, which he finds irresistible.
Overall, Leopold’s Ice Cream at Savannah Airport is a delightful spot that makes travel a little sweeter. With a wide range of delicious flavors and a convenient card-only payment system, it's a must-visit for any ice cream lover passing through...
Read more(Leopold's Ice Cream in Savannah Ga) 1 of the VERY BEST Butter Pecan Ice Creams around. Along with Ben & Jerry's and also Baskin Robins. DO NOT CHOOSE COLD STONE CREAMERY for Butter Pecan if you're picky and precise on the flavor, texture and taste of the salty pecans along with the color and flavor of the ice cream. You'll hate Cold Stones version. I assume the one I had in Jacksonville Florida is the norm all over. Pecans is a mix in and CRUSHED. Also the Butter Pecan Ice Cream is way darker, like tan and too buttery or richer and over powering. Just not great. You want the bigger pecans pieces and the light colored ice cream and pecans throughout and not "bits". I had 3 scoops and could only eat 3 bites. Went to Bsskin Robins for a single scoop and was like YEP this is it. That Ice Cream didn't stand a chance. So THUMBs Wayyyyy UP for Baskin Robins, Ben & Jerry's and MOST OF ALL Leopold's Ice Cream in EVERY SAVANNAH GA...
