This place made me sick! 🤢🤮🤒 I moved from Atlanta and was referred to Troy by a local. I went on a Saturday around 2pm. I enter the restaurant and immediately see into the kitchen a cook that looks like Post Malone w/o gloves wiping his nose with his bare hands as he cooks - red flag #1. 🚩The hostess emerges from the back and out of the entire empty restaurant she seats us right next to the only couple there. It would have been nice to have a little space even just 1 table - especially post pandemic plus the couple started arguing - red flag #2. 🚩We ordered the falafel appetizer that was dry and tasted like hush puppies and served on welted lettuce. I didn't even finish 1, it did not present well or taste good - red flag #3. 🚩🚩🚩This is the point where I should have got up and left but didn’t follow my own instinct and instead I so badly wanted this place to be good because of all the reviews. I ordered a Gyro and asked for the garden on the side (to minimize contamination risk) but of course when it arrived the tomatoes, onions and peppers were in the sandwhich. I ate about half because it lacked flavor, the meat was rubbery and it had so much grease and juices dripping everywhere. My partner ordered the chicken kebab platter. The chicken had good flavor but seemed off, like maybe it was sitting out too long or was microwaved. The rice was cold and hard and the grilled vegetables were cold and mushy. We did not finish our meals. The bill was about $45 which was steep for the poor quality of the food, service and atmosphere. As an experienced foodie, it should have cost $16. To top it off as soon as I get in the parking lot my stomach starts hurting. I ended up being sick the rest of the day and I had plans! The experience reminded me of Gordon Ramsey's show Kitchen Nightmares. 0/10. There are too many great restaurants (and clean) in Savannah to ever come back to this...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Troy Mediterranean Cuisine, located at 10510 Abercorn St STE D in Savannah, GA, and I can't express enough how wonderful our experience was. Despite arriving just 30 minutes before closing, the staff welcomed us with open arms and made us feel like family from the moment we walked in.
We started our meal with the Lamb Chops, and they were simply phenomenal. Cooked to a perfect tenderness, the lamb was bursting with flavor, expertly seasoned, and grilled to perfection. It was a great introduction to the culinary delights that awaited us.
Next, we enjoyed the Spaghetti with Shrimp, which was equally impressive. The shrimp were fresh and juicy, paired with perfectly cooked spaghetti and a delightful sauce that was both rich and savory. Each bite was a testament to the chef's skill and attention to detail.
The Spaghetti with Mushrooms and Mixed Seafood was another highlight of our meal. The combination of fresh seafood and earthy mushrooms created a harmonious blend of flavors, all tossed together with al dente spaghetti. It was a dish that exemplified the best of Mediterranean cuisine.
The restaurant's atmosphere was wonderful, providing a cozy yet elegant setting for our dinner. The decor was tasteful, and the ambiance was warm and inviting. What truly set our experience apart, though, was the incredibly friendly and entertaining staff. Despite the late hour, they were attentive, cheerful, and made us feel right at home, ensuring that we had everything we needed.
In summary, Troy Mediterranean Cuisine delivered an outstanding dining experience. The food was amazing, the atmosphere was delightful, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. Even with just 30 minutes to closing, they treated us like family and made our evening unforgettable. Highly...
Read moreMy friend and I have passed this place several times over the past few years and finally had a chance to go in. He had heard good things about the food and the reviews were good so we were excited of the prospect of some good food not too far from home. Unfortunately, our experience was dismal at best. Upon walking in, we waited around until a line cook yelled out for a waitress who came over several moments later to sit us. The menu was concise, but the atmosphere of the place was immediately undesirable. We watched one couple leave their table without eating their meal and at that point my friend and I decided to skip an appetizer and just order simple to avoid confusion - first bad sign. We both ordered the chicken kabob plate and the only thing edible on the plate was the chicken and the pita itself. The rice was clearly old and barely warm. The vegetables on the plate were soaking in oil and all had the same color. Both sides were inedible for me. Even more frustrating than the food was the atmosphere and constant noise from the kitchen. If you're looking for an establishment that you feel comfortable taking your kid to - this place isn't it, or at least it wasn't on a Saturday. The cooks in the kitchen could be heard audibly yelling to each other, cursing, and just downright being unprofessional. Service was abysmal as well and my friend and I waited over 15 minutes for the waitress to return with our bank card after taking our check. In addition to the 15 minutes it took for our server to realize we had finished eating. Unfortunately, the high expectations we had for this place were not met and we will not be returning. I am not sure what has happened as the previous reviews were wonderful, but err on the side of caution if you choose...
