Waffle House — Restaurant in Savannah

Worst Waffle House I've ever been to! There was not a single car in the parking lot when we got there around 6:30pm. There's a reason there's no cars there at dinner time. We walked in and sat at a booth and Ely was our waitress. We asked her if that table had been cleaned and she said yes when clearly it was not. So she cleaned it. We ordered Coke and Coke Zero. She came back and said they were out of both. So I ordered Diet Coke and my mother ordered Mr. Pibb. The Mr. Pibb was flat so she asked for water. We both ordered a Patty Melt with hashbrowns. When we got our meal my mother noticed a fowl odor coming from the patty melt. I took a bite of mine and it tasted like it was going bad. The meat looked grey. We decided we didn't want to get sick so we let Ely know we didn't want our food. The cook was Poochie. Ely said she would talk to the cook to see what she could do for us. The cook told her to throw away our meal and she would remake it for us and open a new box of meat. We didn't want to eat anything else from there at that point. We were too afraid of getting food poisoning. We told them not to recook the meal as we didn't want anything else. We decided to leave and go eat elsewhere. first off upon entering, multiple tables were dirty, and that was with half of the place being blocked off for dine in. one of the worst Waffle House experiences I’ve had at this location upon arrival there was only one other person whose order was in the works so I waited about 15 minutes while service lady is yapping away with the customer about nonsense finally comes to take my order and she doesn’t even write it down right then upsells me on the toppings for the hashbrowns I bite only for her to come back and say they didn’t have the topping that I requested when I finally got my order the first time left out the bacon and when they brought the rest of the order that I had they didn’t even bring all the waffles that I ordered I also asked for jam and never even got it bruh and I only had two all star breakfast. I spent about a hour in there and vast majority of that time was just waiting for service probably won’t eat there whenever that server is on the clock again… think her name was moni or something like that it started with...

I usually don't leave feed back, however, I felt the need to do so. We just moved to the area and ate here 3 times. The third time we ordered take out and they charged us a 20% take out fee tax for 2 eggs benedicts. My husband didn't realize that we were gauged and still tipped the girl on top of that. When I got home to enjoy our eggs Benedict and saw the receipt, I was furious. Tried to speak to a manager on the phone. They were unavailable and we left a message. We never received a phone call. Our family is very busy and we are lucky enough to be able afford to each out 5 days a week. They completely lost our business. Yes, We should've checked out our receipt when we checked out. However, we are all guilty at times of not doing so, especially when you are busy and just look at the total and add the tip and sign. What a shame.
