Ok adding another review for their new special- the chimichanga rustica. At first I couldn’t decide if I wanted to have it for breakfast for lunch but ultimately took it on for breakfast. Little did I know that I was going on a trip straight back to flavor town. But this time, it was a little different. Usually my adventures take me on a nice, comfortable ride/ like traversing a calm sea on a bright sunny day but today- oh no, this was something completely special. The chimichangas rustica is the Lamborghini Huracan of vehicles that take your tastebuds to a place no mortal has ever stepped into. I saw the old gods and the new standing before me- in a place where we only hear of in stories but here I arrived with the warm tortilla wrapped around me like golden rays of sunshine on my back, cured Italian meats and cheeses- playful, savory delights that were reserved for only the highest of royalty.. but then, something else tickled my tastebuds, triggering the utmost delight of them all… As that warm blanket was struck by fork, I noticed the nectar of the gods surrounded the entire plate- carbonara. Now let me tell you about this carbonara- this is what our ancestors fought for. This is what epic poems are written about, this carbonara is what tasting history is like- no cream. This was made from scratch, made with love- you know that love a parent has for their child? This is almost that, like when the grinch’s heart grew 3 times the size that day. Tears rolled down my face, only rivaling the tears that came again that I was too full to order another. Sobbing, knowing that I trespassed to the domain of the gods and realizing that this voyage will end at the end of the month when the special ends. If you wish to experience nirvana you must - order this.
A little different review in case anyone ever looked into their Italian catering items- but for NYE we ordered a half tray of lasagna and the pesto chicken. First off- this lasagna was HEAVY, and the aroma coming from that and pesto chicken made me salivate in the car. We cracked it open for a sneak peak and I almost felt like I was transported to Italy on the express plane from flavortown. I couldn’t wait til the evening to assess how dinner would be as the mystery was consuming me, so I took the plunge into what would be some of the best 5 minutes of lasagna history. As the tears rolled down my face in pure bliss, my wife heard me from the other room wondering as if something happened. I had to reassure her that everything wasn’t just fine, it was incredible, beautiful even. As I took another bite, I plunged deeper into lasagna and pesto heaven so she decided to partake in this adventure with me, equally enamored by the beauty of this meal. As we sat there in our kitchen, enjoying what very well might be the best lasagna in our life, were saddened that we had to wait til dinner to enjoy it again.
Thank you for sitting through this read- it’s legitimately really good and was honestly made with love. If you need some catering, absolutely...
Read moreMy girlfriend, and I love a good brunch, so we were very excited to hear that a new one was opening up so close to us , and we decided to give it a try. Our first impression was that it was a very friendly, cozy ,comfortable atmosphere that made us feel welcomed. The staff was super polite , and friendly as well, and the service was better then expected. Once seated we both decided to try one of their many frappes they had to offer. I had the Hazlenut nuetalla, and her the smores mini kisses frappe. Both of them were very good, and not to over powering, but made just right. It made me excited to try the others they offer eventually. For the main course I had what they call BYO Flying Saucer Sandwich ( pork roll, egg,and cheese). Not only was it super fresh, and delicious, but as well as nostalgic since it reminded me of one of my childhood favorite snacks uncrustables except with their own twist , and obviously bigger. My girlfriend had one of their Benny bowls in witch she devoured, and said she enjoyed very much. There was many options for the bowls, but she went with the Egg Benny. To keep things simple. We would definitely end up going there frequently, and hope to try more of the stuff that they...
Read moreOrdered: iced mocha latte w oat milk & avocado benedict bowl (replaced bacon with mushrooms)
Pros: service was fantastic! The waitress megan (I think that was her name) was very nice and attentive. The latte was delicious and I appreciate the non dairy milk option. I also appreciated the sub bacon for mushrooms because I don’t eat meat. The establishment seemed clean. Cons: The benedict bowl was not my favorite. The sauce was a bit off to me, not inedible but the sauce tasted more mustard like than lemon-y and mild like most hollandaise I have had which is not my forté. To be clear it was creamy still (not straight up mustard) and the flavor may be some people’s taste, just not my taste. The avocado was definitely thawed from frozen; the texture was super off- mushy/spongey and watery. To be fair I understand avocados don’t have the best shelf life so frozen may be more convenient for a restaurant but it was honestly my first time at a restaurant with that experience that I know of.
I may come back to try the french toast/pancakes or overnight oats because those seem popular and I may like those more. I would come back for the support of a local business (I work in town!) and...
