I’ve been going to Cafe Luna for some time now and have not had a bad experience. Located in Scarborough, you wouldn’t expect this trendy cafe to be right off Route 1, but I’m so glad we have it here; there aren’t many other places like it in the area.
One of my favorite things about Luna is how spacious it is! They have high tops, seating by their window area, outdoor seating during the summer, regular tables, and the comfiest and softest chairs. I love to come here to get some work done and change my seating location throughout the day. The service is also excellent; I’ve always felt welcomed, and everyone’s lovely.
The menu is extensive and filled with salads, sandwiches, smoothies, and toasts. They have an impressive selection. My favorite is their combo deal, where you can get half a salad and half a sandwich for $13 — you can’t beat that. The food is pretty good, but it can sometimes be inconsistent. I don’t love their coffee, but that’s mainly because I’m a dark roast person, and they don’t offer that. At $4 for a cup of hot coffee (for black coffee, this is a bit over the average cost), I’d expect to have a few more options in terms of the style.
Lastly, people complain about the parking, but it’s not that bad. Yes, it can be frustrating during rush hour, but just be a bit patient. I’ve never struggled to find a spot, and the most I’ve had to wait is 5 minutes. Given the space, I think they did their best with the...

Read moreSo hear me out, it’s a good spot, but I have to say a few things that won’t be bothering most people, but I found important to mention: we thought we’d finally found a different cafe, in the midst of all the fast food crowd out there. I mean it’s good, but advertising as a modern type cafe, they certainly nailed the decor and menu options, but everything in throw-away to-go cups and utensils, this is not only an environmental disaster, but totally ruins the experience. The website lets you imagine that it was going to be different (see photos posted). At least it’s good food, and all the other cafes in the area (and most restaurants for that matter) aren’t doing better experience-wise neither with their disposable dishes and utensils. So I’ll still give it 4 stars as the staff was super friendly, service really fast, and coffee and food good too. But it’s a fast-food type of experience nonetheless. Would still recommend, one of the best out there so far, and definitely much better than starbucks and the likes. But please guys, offer real dishes and utensils for customers who are dining in, not everything needs to...
