MT Barrels — Restaurant in Schaumburg Township

Very Disappointed, Went to see a BAND Saturday night that started at 5, paid the cover charge. Had a great time with friends music was good, Bartenders were excellent food was pretty good. Unbeknownst to any of us the bartender told us right before the BAND was about to finish we had to all exit the premises leave our drinks behind that we had already paid for we couldn't even stay and finish our drinks because they have a rule that evidently you come to listen to a band you have to exit and come back and wait in line all over again for the next BAND, but they gave us no indication of this when we entered the building had no idea we had to do this. Next thing you know security guard comes over, Told us we had to leave our drinks and get-up-and-get out now. We demanded to speak to the manager who came over and spoke to us and said this is their policy but strangest thing was they did not indicate to anybody that that was their policy . By this time most everyone had exited the building because they didn't plan on staying for the next BAND I guess, After a long heated conversation with the manager he allowed us to stay but it was a long time of very uncomfortable frustrating situation we had to go through. Thought everyone out there should know of their policy that they do not disclose I have never in my life been to any bar any venue ever that made you leave and come back in and have to wait in line all over again after you had been there for a few hours. Went with some friends to see a cover band on 11/5/23. When I was told $10 entry to see a cover band I almost didn't go. We were told the 1st band would start at 7pm and that we should get their early because tables fill up fast. Got there at 6:20pm and no one was their other then staff and ourselves. I asked the waitress what beers were on draft which she couldn't answer and told me she would check but never did. Our table had to keep asking her multiple times for things. She asked for my card twice to open a tab. Now I have two $25 holds on my account. Not sure if Ill be double charged or not. We ordered the nachos and their sampler platter. The cheese on the nachos were cold and all the fried food was way over cooked. The first band didn't start until just after 8:30pm. We ended up leaving just after 9. We had already ate and drank to our budget and honestly the 1st band wasn't to our liking. We had really come for the 2nd band but given the off schedule timing we couldn't sit around any longer. I called ahead to ask if the bar could serve us outside. Both food and drinks because we have a dog that we were leaving in the car. To keep and eye on the dog and make sure he is ok. They told me that was fine. My friends and i drive 2 cars full of people and when we arrive at the door, i tell the doorman we called ahead about being seated and served outside. They respond by telling me its a 10 dollar cover per person for the band playing inside. They made no meantion of this when i called. I was a new customer asking questions i did not have answers for, because i had never been there. Needless to say we did not spend the cover charge money as it alone was more than the budget we had for food and drinks. Simply telling us there is a cover when we called would have prevented this.
